last night of our last holiday together, my soon to be ex-wife and I splashed out and booked a table at a top Michelin-starred restaurant in Cap d'Ail, Monaco.

During the meal, I accidentally dropped my fork on the floor. It had barely landed when an attendant waiter gracefully picked it up and replaced it with a shiny clean new one. Amazed at the level of service, I deliberately dropped my napkin on the floor. Once again, the waiter retrieved it and replaced it with a crisply laundered, whiter-than-white new one.

So I leaned over, pushed the wife off her chair and waited........
