srussell
Hi there, I own a TRX 850 and am interested in fitting some blue spot front calipers. Is it just a matter of installing callipers or do you need to change master cylinder as well. I believe calipers off an R1 or R6 1999 to 2002 are able to bolt straight on. I"m hoping someone may be able to help. Regards Steve.
Moderator drewpy Posted April 7, 2012 Moderator Share Posted April 7, 2012 you need to check the bore of your original and the bore of the R6 M/C. they need to match to get the correct feel to the brakes. the bore is usually cast on the M/C. Moderator mervin Posted April 8, 2012 Moderator Share Posted April 8, 2012 blue spots have 100 mm mounting hole centres , 14 mm bore will be the size for master cylinder, cos thats what the XJR etc has with blue spots i think
srussell
Thanks for reply, just checked trx workshop manual. M/C bore 15.8mm. so whether I can use existing M/C with blue spot calipers. Maybe not because bores don"t match.
Moderator drewpy Posted April 9, 2012 Moderator Share Posted April 9, 2012 it will make a difference if you don't get the correct bore. what does your M/C look like?
