Posted April 3, 201213 yr Hi Everyone, Just to introduce myself. I've just been very kindly donated a 1997 Dragstar 650 as a clean-it-up-and-get-it-started project in my shed. I'm not actively riding at the moment for health reasons, but hope to be able to take this bike around the block in the future. I have zero mechanical skills apart from lubing a chain - and I can't even do that on this bike! Well, first thing to do will be to get a new battery and sort out the fuses...but I'll get going with that on the other threads. So, this seems like a friendly forum and I look forward to finding step-by-step instructions on everything in these threads. Cheers.

April 4, 201213 yr Welcome Changing the battery is a nice easy job as I have just done mine, remove side panel, unscrew the battery terminals. remove large elastic band holding battery on and out it comes. Fuses are just above the battery.
