Posted April 3, 201213 yr I am new to this site, and I am trying to figure it out. In my endeavor to do so, I noticed that the first thing I need to do is an introduction... here goes I have been riding bikes off and on since I was old enough to kickstart a trail 90:) I have mostly ridden dirt bikes, but recently I bought a dusty old yamaha 400 special. I got a really good deal on it, but the carburetor came in pieces in a box... :/ I'm pretty mechanically inclined, so I'm sure i'll have it road worthy in a short time. In my search for a manual, I stumbled upon this site, and I found it pretty informative. Here I am! Hope to see some of you on the road! Hello everyone!

April 11, 201213 yr Moderator sorry you posted ages ago, must have missed you. have a look in the classic section there are some informations on the xs there. are you sure its 1988? they stopped making them circa '82
