Moderator drewpy Posted April 11, 2012 Moderator Posted April 11, 2012 this may bee a newb question - but whats happening at Stafford? only problem is i live alll the way over in the north east of sunny scotland :/ main places i have been ordering parts from are "Gutsibits" and "motomeccaspares" im trying to keep the bike as orig as possable, and for the weight of them, postage was within the weight of a small envilope so it wasnta that bad Stafford county show ground has an international classic bike show twice a year. Blackhat's going for the weekend.I'm sure if you have the thread measurements he could get you some. better still make a trip of it. its in the YOC calender, end of this month it will take you a minimum of 4 hours just to walk roun. and there is always a guzzi vendor there, not sure who it is though!
Matthew Duncan Posted April 11, 2012 Author Posted April 11, 2012 REBOOT GUZZI SPARES got the email this morning haha - i wish i could go but i dunno like, usually thats the kinda thing i would go to with my old man - but he's on on the bike atm due to medical reasons :/ im also guessing that it would be the kinda place that i would by more than can fit in my topbox and panniers aswell ! haha
Matthew Duncan Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 Update, More Parts Have Arrived ! got my new handle bars, and my footpeg rubbers nae had much more of a progression with this bike recently due to getting my BSA B40 on the road for the rally's coming up, but i have made a start on the new wiring loom - anyone got any tips ?

Matthew Duncan Posted July 26, 2012 Author Posted July 26, 2012 hey guys, not been updating this very much lately, so i thought i would drop in for a quick update ! bikes current condition is stripped, ready for frame, wheels and various other bits n bobs to get sent away and powedercoated i mad ea good start on the wiring, and at the minute it is all off the bike, inc all components in 95%(ish) completion. will get some piccys up this weekend, to show what i've been doing the last few months, progress had kinda slowed down due to work and other projects ( got the old bsa b40 on the road :D ) but will be on it like a car bonnet this weekend, and hopefully get back into the swing of it ! peace out . . for now
Moderator drewpy Posted July 26, 2012 Moderator Posted July 26, 2012 cool, can't wait for the pikkies
Moderator DirtyDT Posted July 26, 2012 Moderator Posted July 26, 2012 cool, can't wait for the pikkies +1
Matthew Duncan Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 sorry to dissapoint, as per other things got in the way - will see if my brother is kind enough tonight as to let me use his laptop - myn got destroyed when i came of my bike :/
Matthew Duncan Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 Update starting trying to get the exhaust into a semi decent shape just for mock up - new stainless steel pipes will be bought after, but chrome the current ones will be used just to test and prior to finish,. started off with K-RUST was good, but taking to slow so i used the angle grinder came out not bad actually, might keep them and spray them black incase i decide to go for the cafe racer conversion ( planning on doing it so i dont actually needs to change the current frame, so i would just put a new seat unit and handle bars onto it, and it would be kinda cafe'd?) only problem i has with this exhust was the clamps sheering - bit of a pain in the arse, but doesnt really matter much when you have a grinder
Matthew Duncan Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 this is my idea for cafe, but im goign to try not to get distracted by that before my resto is done got a new set of stainless bars, as the old ones had perished, so im gonna get them powder coated gold with the wheel to keep for the conversion
Matthew Duncan Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 this tank was used whilst i was tinkering about with the carbs and throttle to get it kinda right, and this is pretty much what she looked like before strip down
Matthew Duncan Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 still stripping . . . muST SAY, i do like my bikes a bit like my women . . . . naked litreally a few hours later and engine back on the bench ready to strip, and clean
Matthew Duncan Posted July 31, 2012 Author Posted July 31, 2012 will go more indepth about the strip this weekend, but this is all the photos i could get my hands on at the moment, must say, that bike is so simple and the design/layout is really well thought out, its no wonder they still use the same principles on the new guzzi's peace out !
