ddlooping
Hi all Still waiting to receive my British license so I can pass the CBT. In the meantime, I'm spending my hard earned cash like there was no tomorrow: - Helmet (Shark Evoline series 2) - Jacket: Weise Psycho - Pants: Draggin Jeans Slix (with free armour) - Disc-Lock: Xena XX14 (with alarm) - GPS tracker: GT03B ("Smart Tracker" from eBay) - Reflective adhesive tape for pin-striping the black matte helmet - Muc-Off 8-In-1 Bike Cleaning Kit - Motorcycle Roadcraft: The Police Rider's Handbook to Better Motorcycling (£3 2nd-hand ) - (Edit): Philip X-treme Vision H4 bulbs There's at least one essential element missing: summer gloves. My humble selection: - Weise Vagos: http://www.ghostbike...cle-gloves.html - Rev'it Fly Gloves: http://www.sportsbik...tent_prod/73495 - Weise Summer Waterproof leather: http://www.twowheel.co.uk/weise-summer-waterproof-gloves.html - Weise Airflow Plus leather: http://www.ghostbikes.com/products/on-road-gear-motorcycle-gloves-all-motorbike-gloves/3705-weise-airflow-plus-motorcycle-gloves.html - Hein Gericke Airstream (thanks for the suggestion, clarkegray): http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/airstream-handschuhe.html Any feedback, suggestions would be appreciated. Ttaskmaster
For very hot weather I actually use the Hein Gericke vented mesh ones, myself. Then again, I have, like 10 pairs of gloves and a billion headovers, anyway.

Moderator DirtyDT Posted April 1, 2012 Moderator Share Posted April 1, 2012 I had a pair of Weise airflow last summer. My thoughts; The mesh tends to fray quite easily and sticks to anything Velcro They are wrist only gloves so they didn't quite cover the bone in my wrists Not sure how mush protection they would give your fingers in a tumble Lovely and cool to wear That said, I liked them and would buy another pair. ddlooping
Thanks DirtyDT. Ok, I'm going to eliminate the Rev'it, based on price, the Weise Airflow, based on your feedback ("tends to fray quite easily...") and the Weise Vagos based on the lack of wrist covering. That leaves... - Weise Summer Waterproof: http://www.weise-clothing.co.uk/weise_2011/gloves/summer_wproof.html - Hein Gericke Airstream: http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/airstream-handschuhe.html
Moderator DirtyDT Posted April 1, 2012 Moderator Share Posted April 1, 2012 Have a look at Spada ones. I have a pair of Spada Aliens that are very nice. I would buy their gloves again.
ddlooping
Thanks for the suggestion, DDT, but they are too "sporty" for my XVS.

ddlooping
Decision made, order placed. After having tried my Weise Psycho jacket on I've decided to go for the Vagos. The jacket's arms reaches well above the wrist, in a seated position, so the Vagos might actually be a good match for it. (the Vagos actually do cover the wrist bone) As a bonus I managed to find them £5 cheaper than anywhere else, on eBay.
ddlooping
I got the gloves. They actually only partially cover the wrist bone but they are very well made, a great fit and look good (in an understated kind if way). I can't comment on whether they'll be good summer gloves though, as I'm yet to ride with them.
