RubySR Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 As per the title, does it matter if you wear your boots inside or outside of your trousers? Any benifit of wearing them one way or the other?
Moderator Cynic Posted March 4, 2012 Moderator Posted March 4, 2012 If your wearing race leathers trousers inside so that track doesent snag and pull them up and cause injury. If your a poor oik like myself riding to work when its snotting it down then over the top with waterproofs with a velcro strap to snug them up so they don't flap.
RubySR Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Cheers Proffesional, I wear mine under when riding to work in my all weather gear but at the weekend I'll wear them outside my jeans. Got DAS in a month so just checking that there isnt a right or wrong way of wearing boots.
Moderator Airhead Posted March 4, 2012 Moderator Posted March 4, 2012 if you wear your boots outside in very wet weather, you feet will get wetter because the water can run inside them
Moderator DirtyDT Posted March 4, 2012 Moderator Posted March 4, 2012 Jeans in, leather in, waterproofs out.
Moderator drewpy Posted March 4, 2012 Moderator Posted March 4, 2012 Jeans in, leather in, waterproofs out. .....and shake it all about.....
NEV Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I reckon water proof walking/hiking gaitors would work too, plus can fold away nice and small for when rain stops.if your in fullset leathers, anyroad.
Campaman Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 On a Cruiser in during the winter as with your feet forward it blows ooop your troosers, out in the summer to keep tackle coool...
Ttaskmaster Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 so just checking that there isnt a right or wrong way of wearing boots. On your hands = Fail. On your feet = Might pass. Right one on right foot, left one on left foot = Pass! My leathers always go outside. If Cruiser Updraught is a factor, they just get cinched tight. Getting a pair of 'trouser-blousers' from yer local army surplus place (or even online) costs a couple quid and makes them proper tight. Easy on, easy off, stash in small pocket, no worries. Waterproofs always go outside.
Tony-Howes Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Whatever’s the most comfy for you, I guess it depends on how tight your trousers are! (Personally I believe they should be compulsory along with gloves!) The best horror story I’ve got is a chap last summer on Triumph triple wearing t-shirt, shorts & “Flip-Flops” wasn’t my best move pointing out his footwear to him!!! Good luck with the DAS...

Tony-Howes Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 sorry Dirty I was meaning boots Not sure I could get in tight trousers any more and if I did probably wouldn’t get back out!
