palanchou
hi. ive rebuilt a dt50ccmx. putting a spark tester in the ht lead, kick her over, no sparks in the tester. turned the crank with a drill, sparks galore. its as if the kick starter does not turn her over fast enough. any ideas please, bill. Moderator DirtyDT Posted February 29, 2012 Moderator Share Posted February 29, 2012 When you crank it with the drill does it spark every time it should? When you kick it over does it spin the rotor? I would check the points (gap and condition), the condenser, plug and timing. It shouldn't be too hard to kick over the 50 to get a spark. Moderator Airhead Posted February 29, 2012 Moderator Share Posted February 29, 2012 i guess its a cdi ignition? test the resistances of the magneto pulse coil and source coil, also the Ht ignition coil, you will find the info in your workshop manual
