hi folks, help needed

just stripped and cleaned carbs after bike bn sitting for yrs

starts great now, but petrol is coming out of overflow pipes

is this down to float needle or what???

The floats not working, the float needles not closing or the float heights too high, normally.

I had the same problem with my TDM, I serviced both carbs with a new floats and needle kit. My newest bike a 1994 XJ600s, was so much easier to work on. As i cleaned all 4 carbs and fitted new inlet rubbers, in a quarter of the time of the TDM.

Check the float valves and lower them, the floats are not cutting off the fuel supply so the excess fuel is coming out of the overflow
