roffster Posted November 1, 2011 Share Posted November 1, 2011 Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum and have just started work on a 1979 DT250MX. I've had it in the garage for 14 years and it ran fine at that point but had a badly slipping clutch. A friend stripped the clutch down but couldn't fix it so it was left. I have now decided to re-commission it and have ordered new clutch plates and gaskets for it. I have a couple of questions though: 1. Can anyone tell me if all DT250 oil pump covers will fit or was the MX different? It has gone missing in the 14 yrs since I laid it up. 2. Are the dowels that go in the clutch side crank casing available new or are there other models dowels that will fit (I think there are a couple of them??) Again they have gone missing in the garage. Thanks for your help, I'm sure there'll be more questions when it comes to firing her up.
