jimmythemoonlight
hello i was looking for a gasket set for my 125 dragfar, i had noticed there is far too much in the variation of price, for example a full gasket set on ebay for 30 quid, or a full set elsewhere from 70 quid and so on, as i have never bought gaskets for bikes before i wondered what is the difference (besides price) ? are cheep gaskets more likely to fail ? is it a case of "buy cheap and buy twice"? is there a brand that is worth avoiding ? is there a brand that is worth going after for all the right reasons ????????????? please advise
Moderator drewpy Posted October 30, 2011 Moderator Share Posted October 30, 2011 never had gaskets go on me, i even make my own. The most important one is the head gasket, sealing in the expansion gasses! you need a torque wrench too, impossible/dangerous to guess tightening forces
Moderator DirtyDT Posted October 30, 2011 Moderator Share Posted October 30, 2011 Don't buy the cheap ones. You would be better off with a cornflake box.
