Have a 2009 Yamaha TMAX with 10,000 miles. Always synthetic oil. Last 10 days with 105+ heat days, has not been starting AFTER the first ride of the day. In the am it's fine, but after lunch, won't start (engine cranks, but won't fire). After a few hours, it starts, but after another ride. Won't fire up again.

Installed new NGK Iridium plugs, gapped at .7mm. New K&N air filter. Switched to REAL gasoline from 10% ethanol. Battery tested at 13.8 volts. I'm stumped. Help, this is my primary transportation, and my good Yamaha dealer is back-logged 2 to 3 weeks.

K&N Yamaha in Tulsa corrected the problem with a new Fuel Pump. Said they'd swamped out 7 Yamaha fuel pumps in August. Yamaha paid for it (apparently a problem with a fuel pump vendor). GREAT SERVICE AND SUPPORT!!! Annoyed to be on my 3rd fuel pump in 18 months, but Yamaha has backed their product. Vendor screw ups can happen, and I'm very pleased that Yamaha stepped up.

It fixed by K&N Yamaha in Tulsa. They are the OLDEST Yamaha dealer in the United States !!!!!!!!!! They immediately identified the problem. Replaced a defective fuel pump. Apparently Yamaha has a supplier that's made a series of bad fuel pumps for several Yamaha models. I was just out of warranty, and Yamaha stood behind their machine. Yamaha covered it all. WOW !!! I'll buy another Yamaha without hesitation.
