xstoy Posted March 23, 2011 Share Posted March 23, 2011 G'day all, I've been lurking around here for a while now so it's about time i did my intro seeing as i recently purchased a bike ( SR 250 ). I'm 53 years old, live in Melbourne Australia. Just getting back into motorcycling after approx 30 years. I've just replaced the exhaust on the bike with a much more free flowing unit which required a bit of adjustment to carby ( needle height ) however engine is still stalling when stopping with clutch in. I've decided to leave this as i've just pulled the clutch out as it is slipping. I know i shouldn't do an intro and ask questions at the same time, however i noticed when i drained the oil that it was filled with way more oil than specified on the side cover, would this be causing the clutch to slip ? Also if anyone could advise on the minimum thickness of the clutch plates on this model and procedure for adjustment? Great site for info and even better bikes.
