Ok im going to be purchasing an sr 125 and the seller says the teeth on first gear have slighlty eroded (1st gear rattles) and says its best to start off in second gear. Now im wondering is this worth purchasing? the bike has done 25k and its the 1992 model. Does any one know how much it would cost to recondition the gear box?

Chief, unless you are only going to pay ten bob for the beast, and have great gearbox rebuilding skills then I would walk well away. First gear is probably knackered through abuse. Cheers
