i bought the bike for £500 it had 60,000 miles on it. drove it for a while put another 2000 miles on it then as a winter project i decided to rat the bike . i took the rear sub frame off and fitted a cast iron tractor seat had to move abs brain from tail piece forwards . when the back end was removed i reconnected the connector blocks to see if it still worked and it did, so after spraying bike matt black , i rebuilt the bike and was amazed when it would not start . i have checked fuses , side stand, clutch switch , kill switch and also checked for a brake in blue and white wire from start button to starter solenoid hope this helps

The starter button can give trouble on the FJ range of bikes as it works as the earth connection if my memory serves me correctly, however since you have only been working around the sub-frame area it does seem the problem should be there.

first of i would like to say thanks for all your suggestions on my bikes problem . spent the full day working on it . stripped and checked all switches , then out with the wiring diagram started to check all wiring from switches all round the bike and conections . i had thought it might be the solenoid so i had bought a new one of ebay during the week .so i fitted it and still no success (freak out time hated the bike )so gave in hate being beat . rang the local bike mech to see when he could take the bike it was a week . i started to tidy garage putting bike to the side and tidying all wiring when i noticed that on the solenoid there was no link washer between the large live to the small one so took it of old one turned the key pressed the start button and she fired up over the moon so old solenoid done and new one missing a bit ah the joy of it all . thanks again
