I bought an FZR 400 from an auto jumble in september. had to change the carbs but managed to get another set off another fzr( both are italian imports)which seem better as the replacements have metal inlets/outlets. The bike was running but didn t actually ride down the road as it was pretty ceased from standing for a long while. When my friend and i had spent time working on it, it was finally time for a test ride. I rode out onto the road and straight into an uphill, where the bike lost power and cut out, it did this a number of times before i got to the top of the hill, it went good on the flat until i hit 80mph when it lost power and died, every time. when it was going good, it was great but spent half the ride with it loosing power and cutting out - especially on up hill runs - can any one advise what i need to be looking for/at - has anyone had this trouble with their bike. could it be the exup valve or is it more likely something to do with the spark...any advice would be gratefully received as i so want to get it on the road! many thanks for your time , much appriciated.
