hovercad Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Hello All, Have a w reg rs100 seems that its doomed. Haved asked in various sections on various boards and no one can give an answer. This is my last hope. If not looks like scrap yard in the sky. (Dont know wether its classed as a classic. So sorry if in the wrong section) I am trying to source a part for the carb. Seen it called the needle jet.(The tube that the needle connected to the throttle cable slides in and out of.) My one is broken due to it being over tightened when rebuilding the carb. Can any one help with a part number and possibly a supplier? Thank you for reading. Craig and Rachel
turrican64 Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Get me a carb number. It will be stamped somewhere on the carb body and it can be difficult to find. It might be here: ...or somewhere else. I'll take a look and see if it matches up in my book. Your best bet for parts would be a wrecker or ebay. By the way, if you can't find parts, don't just trash it! There are some who restore these and you could make some cash by parting it out.
YPVS TONE Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Are you in the UK ? If so give Motoward a call on 01403 823222 with the year and full engine number and they may be able to look the part up and see if it's still available. Tony.
Moderator DirtyDT Posted October 16, 2009 Moderator Posted October 16, 2009 Are you talking about the Main nozzle shown as number 3 Here ? If so they seem to be not available but that does not mean that there are none lurking on a parts shelve somewhere. As previously suggested, get the carb make and model number and see if that same carb was fitted to other models. Even non Yam ones. This means that instead of searching for just RS carbs you could search for that part from other models on your favorite auction site. It may be worth asking this bloke if he has one Here
hovercad Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Hello Turrican64,YPVS tone and DirtyDt, Many thanks for your replies, Looks like more phoning around and investigation required. I have looked all over the carb. As far as i can tell. Its a VM20 (Info from haynes manual) the only markings I can see on it are J0 stamped on the flange that bolts onto the barrel. DirtyDT looking at the image in the link sods law says it looks like that. Mine differs from the pic in that it has a jet that screws into the end that sits in the bottom of the carb. Looks like it has 125 stamped on it.The jet is ok but the tube bit is broken. Have taken a pic but cant find out how to add it. If I can get the part for the bike my daughter will be happy (so will I) if not she's learnt not to carry on tightening once you hear the screeching noise.lol Many thanks again. CRaig and Rachel
turrican64 Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 To upload pics, you need to find a image hosting site (imageshack) and upload it there. There is a little image of a picture in the menu above when you make a post. Click that, place the image URL (www.xxxxxxxx.com or whatever) into the box and it's placed in the post. Like you said, phoning around would be a good option. You could also ask the guys here: http://64.234.201.42/YamahaForum/index.php They know tons about Yamaha enduro bikes and post quite often. Hope this helps.

hovercad Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 Hello All, Well parts fiche turned up today. 30 seconds later yamaha part number 164-14141-42 described as noozle main. (All other documents call it needle jet.) Looking at the jet that fits the noozle 125 is standard so that ties in. Now trying to find the part and possible the Mikuni part number. The hunt begins. Craig
Moderator Airhead Posted October 26, 2009 Moderator Posted October 26, 2009 Try asking at motocarb, they are a mikuni specialist, they are in Liverpool and have a web site. There are others though but i use motocarb and have had good service
