Filling a new battery

Hi, i just purchased a yamaha xs 400 and i went to sears and got a battery. I began to fill it then i seemed to overfill it so acid began to spill all over. Is there anyway to still used the battery or do i have to go buy a new one Thank!

    Just use a syringe to get the excess acid out but be careful it is acid in the ting
