With a team of only 4 main riders and a back-up crew of 2, we will be travelling on the following route: Leg 1 - 8th - BARNSTAPLE - EXETER (Via Lands End) Leg 2 - 9th - EXETER - FOLKESTONE Leg 3 - 10th - FOLKESTONE - SOUTHEND ON SEA Leg 4 - 11th - SOUTHEND ON SEA - GRIMSBY Leg 5 - 12th - GRIMSBY - HARTLEPOOL Leg 6 - 13th - HARTLEPOOL - DUNFERMLINE Leg 7 - 14th - DUNFERMLINE - INVERNESS Leg 8 - 15th - INVERNESS - THURSO Leg 9 - 16th - THURSO - FORT WILLIAM Leg 10 - 17th - FORT WILLIAM - CARLISLE Leg 11 - 18th - CARLISLE - COLWYN BAY Leg 12 - 19th - COLWYN BAY - ABERYSTWYTH Leg 13 - 20th - ABERYSTWYTH - BRISTOL Leg 14 - 21st - BRISTOL - BARNSTAPLE Leg 15 - 22nd - BARNSTAPLE - BARNSTAPLE (The Great Toy Run) (89 Miles) Each day is open to as many out-riders as we can get hold of, last year on some of the legs we had up to 100 riders helping us along the way. We will be working mega hard to get in monies from various places including sponsorship, from things like standing outside supermarkets to street collections right down to a infamous 3 legged pub crawl, with all money raised going to two charities, the 1st being the Devon Air Ambulance and the 2nd is TBC. Moderator mervin Posted May 1, 2009 Author Moderator Share Posted May 1, 2009 Unfortunately this has fallen foul of the recession got this message from Phil the organizer this morning he Chicken Run IV UK Tour (8th - 22nd August 2009) It is with sad news that this event now has to be cancelled. Our main sponsor has had to close its doors for business and he was paying for the fuel and accommodation for the team. It is now to late in the day for us to get another sponsor to cover these aspects of the run. All our hard work has now been in vain and I feel sick.
