Hi all,

Ive got a 1980 xs650 special brought from the States last year. Its been with Paul at his garage (Hondatech) on the Wirral while he worked his magic and its now running well, all perished bits replaced, new tyres and bits replaced that were robbed while it waited for export (petcock and fuel cap)

Since we put petrol in it the tank has erupted in small blisters which grew and on bursting one and scraping back the paint a pinhole was found which indicates the inside is rotted.

I now need a tank to finish the job and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about what could be used ie xs750 850 etc whether they would need altering to fit or can be put straight on or any other makes (someone suggested the tank from a Honda cb650c)

Any help/info/suggestions would be really appreciated. Great site. Thanks

Tim

Thanks everyone for your ideas and suggestions. Found a tank on ebay from the States looks good (wrong colour) and with shipping isnt too pricey either. Should hopefully be out next week

Thanks again Tim
