wild foamy Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Hi everyone. ive got my school prom in June and some of us have started making plans already RE: Limos and transport and all that mumbo jumbo. but whats the best way to make an entrance?, something different preferably, but not OTT. Maybe i could sweet-talk Goff into giving me a ride on the back of her streetfighter
Moderator mervin Posted March 13, 2009 Moderator Posted March 13, 2009 if it was me i would turn up in a jcb bucket falt out in the thing merv
ally tonks Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 my daughters fella went wearing a wet suit and bow tie but then thats just him!
wild foamy Posted March 13, 2009 Author Posted March 13, 2009 thinknig more transport wise, limos are expensive and boring... ... preferably something unique, shiny and loud...
Moderator drewpy Posted March 14, 2009 Moderator Posted March 14, 2009 you need something LOUD to get attention. is there a local british biker club where they could calvcade you to the prom? preferably 20 or so bikes up to the front door? couldn't miss you and it would be so cool especially if you had leathers on like James Dean
Moderator Goff Posted March 14, 2009 Moderator Posted March 14, 2009 Limos are indeed loud and boring - and naff as hell. You want something like a BOOM trike: They have places all over the UK AFAIK BOOM TRIKE WEBSITE
Moderator drewpy Posted March 14, 2009 Moderator Posted March 14, 2009 wasn't there a lancashire trike maker, I saw it at Astley bike show last year very nice and very expensive!!
Gas up - Let's Go! Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 ive got my school prom in June Have you moved to the USA Steve ??
Slippery When Wet Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Have you moved to the USA Steve ?? Gas-Up ....showing your age Bud Prom is the modern term for the old 6th Form Dance Hey Steve, know anyone with a decent American Car or hotrod (I mean a real American Car!) Have a Google on local Amercan and Hotrod forums see if anyone does events with their ride, my mate used to do loads of proms with a 1960 convertible Cadillac.
Gas up - Let's Go! Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Gas-Up ....showing your age Bud Just look at my face - it shows everything God, what next - we'll be calling Halloween Trick or Treat night, or having Grandparents Day...... Steve - how's about turning up in a Dicky-Bow, just a Dicky-Bow......... They come in all sizes You'd certainly get talked about!
Ttaskmaster Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Prom is the modern term for the old 6th Form Dance I was going to ask, although we never had a dance either. I must be ancient..... Hey Steve, know anyone with a decent American Car or hotrod (I mean a real American Car!) My ex did her dance thing in her father's 1940 Ford Deluxe. THAT was a proper hotrod. However, it's been done before. Realistically, just get a couple of LOUD police bikes and 3 of those Audi A6 Saloons (the '02 1.9 TDi SE is good). The bikes lead, with you in the second Audi. You all arrive, the doors open and several men emerge from the cars, each wearing sunglasses and earpieces. They look about for a bit, then open the door and allow you and your date to exit, before escorting you inside.

Ttaskmaster Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 there any bikes on here local to Berkshire wouldn't mind helping me out?, of course i will pay fuel money and fees Ask at your local Newbury MAG. Also known as West Berkshire (WeBe) MAG, I think they meet once a fortnight. Here is their website Speak nicely to Kev and he might be able to help (and you, young Space Cadet, make damn sure you call him 'Sir' as he's an RAF Officer!). Tell him Woody sent you. Might as well join MAG while you're there, too.
