Hey, I have a 73 TX 500 with a leaky head gasket. I was wondering what to do about the cam chain, I called my local Yamaha dealer and searched Bikebandit.com and the master link is no longer available. Is there any way to get around having to break the chain? Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks.

Would this be the same as an XS650 cam chain, if so try mikes XS they should have an idea or partsnmore in canada

merv

mikes xs

Is the cam sprocket not detachable from the camshaft? (giving you space to disengage the chain without breaking it).

it should be, on the xs400 there's 2 x 10mm bolts holding the chain wheel to the camshaft.
