xjtrike
Hi all, new here haing just bought a trike, I'm trying to identify the engine, the only stamp I can find on the crankcase is 5G8 ? Does this identify the engine as a SECA ? Also been looking to replace the downpipes etc with these, Yamaha XJ750XS Maxim Jama Originals, does anyone know if they will fit? Hope someone can help. Many thanks, Jeff
Dave C
I think the 5G8 was made for the japanese market and i also think it was the SECA.
xjtrike
Cheers thanks for the reply, Yamaha said the same this afternoon. Don't suppose you'd know if the downpipes for a 750 Maxim would fit do you? Yamaha said the should.
Dave C
Just checked the parts diagram http://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-xj750rh-seca-1...slist/B-06.html and that says they should fit. If you click on the part number it will give you all the bikes that part will fit.

Many thanks, Jeff Howdy, The 5G8 identifies it as a xj750RJ. The first three # identifies model and year of manufacture. The last info I have is 5G2 which is 1982. Luck to you. armydog1
