  1. Guy n Gals,

Bennets have decied to write my bike off, after a small off on a roundabout that billed in at £5.500! I 'm after another 1998-2002 r6 in the early red/white/back scheme. I've checked out ebay etc, got about £3k to spend, live in swindon, wiltshire. Any ideas or bikes for sale?

    Cheers Stacy

    P.S

got some great pics of bike!

  2. I am a bit confused by the R6 running temperatures.

It tends to settle around 70c on a run during a cold morning.

If I let my beauty reach 80 or 90c idling in traffic, it tends

to stay there on a run.

The fan comes alive at 100c, commonly at lights

    or during traffic.

    How does this beast operate?

Mines the same to, it will run at about 80 during a summer afternoon, it doesn't seem to affect performance though

  3. Folks,

If you are intrested in going and meeting up along the way and you live along the M4 corridor (Bristol, Bath, Chippenham, Swindon Etc) or surrounding areas, drop me a line and we can arrange meeting places along the way?

1, It will break up a boring trip down the motorway.

2, As a newbie it would be nice to meet some folks before being lost in the crowd

Alternatively make arrangements to meet at there?

    Drop a reply or e-mail @

    [email protected]

and i'll try to sort a route out that joins us all up

Hope to meet a few of you soon

    Regards

    Stacy

  5. What a great result for us brits! The boys are showing the rest of them how to do it! Give them a desent bike and let them do the talking. Granted it's only Q's but .7ths quicker than the rest! Same yam don't do a 125cc MototGP???

Kep the good work up lads, and lets forget our 3rd brit sat in 7th!

    COME ON BOYS!!!!

Lets show the spanish and the rest of europe how we wish we could do it like you!

  6. More likely to be cam chain tensioner. they go quieter once the revs rise as faster chain speed throws a bigger arc and takes up the slack.

Get some one who`s good to have a listen before too many more miles, if whatever it is lets go it could be very costly once its gone totally tits up. And you do not want it to let go at 13000 revs!

Agree with the first reply, but may also be be your starter motor? Which would be the best place to start i think? Could be the spring that is not retracting the the cog?

    Regards

  7. If you've only been off the road for 4 years, you've riden a modern sportsbike before and you trust yourself, you'll be fine, but if your still not sure book yourself on one of the Police run bikesafe days, I did it a few years back after returning to bikes after a near 20 year lay off and thought it was excellent, just like everyone else I know who's done one. Not from your area so don't know about meets or ride outs, but www.therevcounter.com is a nice friendly bikers forum, I'm sure you'll get to know what's going on around where you are if you ask on there.

good luck and ride safe (till the roads dry out at least :) )

Steve you've hit the spot, 4 years out is not a long time, but just for saftey's sake and a boost to confidence get on the bike safe course!

  8. hey wanting a sports bike, gotta b a 125 coz only got a cbt

    any surgestions??

Before you go 600/750+. Get a good 2 stroke. My fav was my RGV 250, quick as hell but light and easy to ride, great to hone you skills and learn how to take a bend. Go 2 stroke before 600 is the best advise i can give. Plenty knocking about these days

  10. anyone wanna give a quick write up on who they are, age, where they are from, bike they ride etc. most of the regulars know a bit about each other but it would be cool to hear about the newer members

    Hi

Only joined the site 2 days a go!

Stacy from Swindon (male before you ask!)

    Aged 33

Ride a 2000 r6 in red n white, with R6 MPJ plate, bought from George whites in swindon.

No mech mods as yet, however i've just stubby'd my can, and can't afford anything to expensive, so if any of you guys n girls have have any advise that would be great

No cosmetic to speak of, got the rim tape on in wite looks ok.

And thats about me and bike?

    Oh My vital statitics are...............

  11. If you know what ones you want my boss has a vinyl shop and has pretty much every bike decal available!

Let me know what you want and I will let you know how much!

    :D

    Cheers,

Ideally i would want (if Poss) In largest to smallest across the bellypan...

    R6

    Pirelli

    Brembo

    Ofram

    Scott

    AGV

    Joe Rocket

All in white, not sure of the size requirements. If you need them let me know and i'll get the tape measure out!

    Cheers

    Stacy

  12. Obvious question, I suppose, but have you tried MCN, or somewhere like http://www.bikedecals.co.uk/ (I guess you've probably been there and found single ones?).

George White should be able to sort you out, I'd have thought?

I've got a couple of old stickers kicking about off a copy of Ride or similar - probably too small for your needs (and not even doubles so couldn't put them on either side of the belly pan...) but if you want them, (Shoei/Ohlins/Bridgestone...)

    Paul

Hi Paul, thanks for the offer, was looking for more of a full set to stick right on, i'd be crap at trying to match both sides up! did the usual rounds on the net, but as you said it was all singles, could do with a full set

    Cheers

    Stacy

  13. i got my r6 from george whites :) maybe me n some mates can hook up with ya :)

Hi Kwak. Got ine from G W's to...

Where do you go riding in swindon? OUr run is usually from Orbital Retail park, Down the Road to Peatmore, round the back of blunsden back up to the 419, then off up to leachlede and on to faringdon and then bak throught he back of faringdon and back out on the 419 at the bottom of hill. Descent ride, at least an hour at full tilt

  14. Hi Folks, I m looking to spice up the look of my new bike (granted not new, but new to me) I have a 2000 R6 and looking for sponser/manafacture decals for the belly pan. I have scoured the web but not found anywhere that does sets? Only individuals? If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great

:offtopic: I live in Swindon and have 4 mates who all ride a wide range bikes, if your intrested in ride outs or just going for a good scratch get in touch!

    Cheers
