  1. Ok just to chuck my opinion into this, I actually do think that riders under 21 should be restricted, Round where I live there are a lot of young lads on 125 moto cross style bikes and all of them ride around as if they're asses were on fire, now would they change their habits on a bigger bike? I think not. its all about self control and the older you get the more you tend to use that self control.

Im only 25 and did my cbt last october and my DAS last month, I have now just purchased a 1995 XJ600N as my first bike big and to be honest having come from a 125cc to this i feel anything with moe power would probably kill me. I do find myself exceeding the speed limits at times (i.e when roads are totally clear and weather and visibilty are good) but so often I see young riders on bigger sports bikes fly past and more often than not here squeals of brakes as they havent got the self control or awareness about them that they need.

    Anyway rant over

just done a simalar thing at 27

i got my fz6s and its more than enough............

rather be a little late in this world tan early in the next.

i must say i did try a few of my freind bikes gsxr750 and 600, cbr 600rr and a r6.... and yes i liked them.

but i think the fazer will be a better tool to get my experance on.... and theres no shame in that.

i'm not saying if you was to jump on something crazy don't do it. You make your own choise in life.

what i'm say FOR ME jumping on something bigger or more sports focused was not what i wanted.

want to be a good biker not a dead biker!!!1

  2. does anyone know of a resonable after market exhauset for the fzs6 mines got standard exhaust on and it painfully quiet......

someone asked is it really a 600......

left him for dead on his cbr600 sports.

    real 600 my ars.

anyway can you make the bike make a little more noise...

loud pipes save lifes and all that

    ta

  3. Well, I've just bought one...

2002 Fazer with 22k miles, 4 owners, plenty of history/receipts/etc and seemingly in good nick (bought as a second bike by the last owner). I paid £1650.

I pick it up next week - can't wait! :D

very good price that i paid 3200 for my 54 plate a month ago. was not really what i wanted but i think i had my head in clouds. had a ride on my mate o4 reg and when same day looked at 11 diffrent ones and did a woman trick and went back to the first...#

goes like split shit for a first bike too.....

    good buy

  4. I reckon you will be fine on the 1000... its not as though its a sports 1000cc... but a low powered (for a 1000cc) touring type bike... as long as you take it easy I cant see any real problems.

thats what i thought but. changed my mind again. got a fzs600 on a 55reg.... does what i need for now maybe move up in a year.

    Thanks for the advice

  5. Ladies and Gents

firstly hello to everyone and thanks for having me!!!!

    Second hears by problem

looking fro a first "proper bike"

love the idea of a fazer...

i was thinking of getting a fazer 600 but i've seen a nice 1000 offer.ed in better condition than the 600 i'd been looking at

and ultimatly that what i'd like to own.

Thinking save's loosing money to buying one to sell, to buy what i want

insurance wise there is £12 in it so there is not much realavence in insurance costs.

Do you guys think a fazer 1000 would be too much for a first ride???

alll input welcome even if its not what i want to hear!!!

    Thanks
