  1. Hello,

    Being a newbie to riding and the forum i just wanted to ask a few questions about this particular bike.

    Being a '96 TDR 125, Am I correct in saying that the engine is the same as the DT125R of the same year?

    Also i would like to get more UUMMPP out of the bike. i've read on other posts about various different derestriction elements, powervalve upgrade/amendments, washers tack welded in the front and rear pipes, a 'snorkel' on the air intake under the seat, changing the spark plug for a performance one and changing the rear sprocket for a DT one!!!! (No doubt i've missed things?) :huh: Will i need to do all of these things or is there a best combination? :blink:

    I realise posts like this come up all of the time but your help would be appreciated.

    tdr motor=dtr motor

    but what you really need is another motor.. laugh.gif

    and i have in mind something.. biggrin.gif

    the dt200r motor.. cool.gif

    totally bolt on to the dt125r and tdr....

    bore and stroke 66x57=195cc=30ps (stock) at the wheel = 155-160Km/h top speed

    a friend has a spare one. if interested i'll ask for a price

    iv got a tzr 125 1989 uk model, its my pride and joy.

    i want to know if a tzr 250cc engine will fit in to a tzr 125cc easyly?

    do any one know? and is it worth doing it?

  3. hi. does any body know the torque settings for a dt125 head and barrel as i've only just bought my bike so i havent found a manual or anything to help me. i only got it a week ago and its already poped :angry:

    its 1/2 to 3/4 turns after finger push.. (when you screw it anymore pushing it with your finger)

  4. I have recently bought a cheap RXS 100 to use to get to work and back, but upon standing in the garage for a week the 2 stroke tank appears to have emptied its contents. There is no leak on the 2 stroke tank, any of the piping or from the oil pump.

    The gearbox was full and overflowing through the dipstick and from the colour of the oil it looks like it has 2 stroke oil mixed with gearbox oil in it.

    Is this possible and if so does anyone have any ideas on a fix.

    The bike starts and runs fine (although as the bike has no MOT i have not been able to road test it).

    think deeper...

    you have to replace the oil pump seal.. the oil gets in the gearbox through that..

  5. Hay there guys just a quick question if you can help. how do i go about adjusting my power valve for best performance, would be gratefull if anyone can help.

    adjust the cables from the servo the way that when you turn the key and the servo moves, the little black round thing (where the cables hook on) stops in a position where the small hole is exactly above the hole behind it.

  6. hi, struggling to remove suspension linkage on my 1988 dt125r.There is a small bolt on one side and a large bolt on the other.From what i can see small bolt screws into large one.Small bolt unscrews ok, large one just spins.Need to remove it as i want to get the frame powder coated, anyone got any ideas!!!! :blink:

    i recently bought a dt230(lanza) (4tp) which i will totally rebuild but i need some help..

    does anyone have something like a service manual.. wiring diagram.. or parts catalog?

    any help would be greatly appreciated..

  8. Thanks for the info. You're right, I've looked high and low for a pattern set, but I can't find one anywhere! I've made do with a side panel from ebay for the moment - but if anyone knows of a full set of black plastics, it would be much appreciated.

    well i have a full set in blue! plus the tank and the seat! good condition.

  10. hello i bought a dtr 125 for 70 pound in really ruff condition but now that iv cleened it all up the frame looks the part with a bran new proffesional spray pain cos it had been painted with a paint brush and wall gloss so had to be done it didnt run neither until i got a new piston and gasgets and new fuel filter but now alli need for it is a back brake caliper and full set off plastics iv heard any year dtr plastics will fit on so im not fussed wat there off so could any 1 guide mein the write direction or has any one got any for sale thanxxx

    if you r still interested i have a full set of plastics plus the fuel tank and seat with graphics from my dtr. it is in blue color and and in good condition. plus if u r interested i have the swingarm which in this case is alloy (dt200r) and not plain steel (dt125r)... and the back brake caliper u need...
