  1. At a guess on the day your mate adjusted it, you inadvertantly had the choke opened slightly, this would increase throttle opening. So the next time youre out on the bike you use the choke to start, only this time you take the choke off properly and the engine stalls because it was adjusted when the choke was slightly on...a possibility?

sorry but the choke is automatic.and it was revving fast when i stopped at his house.

  2. hi last week i started my bike fz1s , all ok got to my mates house about a mile stoped outside and the bike was reving at about 2000, on a closed throttle. so my mate without asking adjusted the little silver knob on the near side just under the tank. ticked over ok, had a little run out all ok. today went to start the bike had to open the throttle to start it & would not tick over unless throttle was opend a little. i know that its because he adjusted the tick over speed.what i dont know is why it could have revved fast in the first place. has this happened to anyone else.

  3. Many thanks for all your help , not a great start for me but im not quite so gutted now  , the clutch is not hydralic , and the biting point on the lever is just as soon as you retract lever (about a few millimetre back) is this an indication of it being adjusted to get last out of clutch. gutted or not last nite i came back with a monster grin , thats a quick machine  i have had bikes for years motox, trials ,supermotos but that was my first proper blast on a sports bike and i cant wait to get out there again on it lol . can i do any more damage driving with wonky clutch , it is selecting gears ok and seems to be pulling not to bad , just that dodgey burning clutchy smell when giving it beans :D
  4. mate of mine posted this on another site and i thought i would pass it on and try and get the votes up:

My mate Simon was involved a few years back in a very bad bike accident and as he says now 'I used to walk the walk and talk the talk, now I just fall over and mumble'. He has a really good attitude over what has happened to him although he now spends most of his time in front of a computer.

Now hes entered his pet in a online comp and so If I can ask you just to vote for his dog Sam...

I think it will cheer him up a bit when he gets loads of votes...so if you can pass it on.

    Cheers

job done nice one for a friend :D
