  1. Thanks mate, and I think you're totally right. I'd actually forgotten about the misery created by yesterdays volvo driver - you get so used to the big chelsea tractors causing the majority of the grief these days!!!
  2. Cheers mate. Gotta Photobucket account, so here goes... I loved my Kwak. It was only a year old, then a 4x4 hit me. I was lucky to walk away with nothing much more than a broken finger. My bike wasnt so lucky and got written off. Had two Kwaks in a row, so thought it was time to try something new. Very pleased I chose the Yamaha.
  3. Just covered 600 miles on my new '07 R6. First Yamaha I've owned in 5 years of riding and I'm loving it. Has an '06 kwak ZX-636 before this and the R6 is better in ever single way except the slight lack of low down power and the thirst for fuel. Dont really notice that tho - having too much fun. Changed the rear seat for a cover since I last took photos and am soon going to fit a tail tidy and clear mini indicators front and rear. Also took all the ugly stickers off the tank and fitted a custom R6 tank protector. Can't figure out how to attach pix (if you can) and dont have any linked photos online at the moment. Profile pic is as good as it gets right now.

    Rain Ride

I ride to work everyday of the year, rain or shine. As long as you adapt your riding style to suit the wet weather you can still ride progressively and even enjoy the journey. The problem is the other idiots on the ride who cant drive when its bone dry, let alone when its wet.

    Clothing

I ride all year round so obviously change my gear to suit the season/weather. I always wear SIDI Vertebra II leather boots. Not exactly warm in winter, but definitely livable with. In the rain, wind and general cold I wear a pair of PVC waterproof over-trousers. Gotta get a pair of protective trouses really, although it's suprising how well you slide in PVC! I wear an Alpinestars leather jacket in all weathers. In the winter months I wear a Cold Killers under-jacket too (which is brilliant btw) and a snood that covers my neck. That meant my SHOEI helmet kept steaming up so I got a Fog City insert for the visor (which is also brilliant) so I can see where I'm going. Glovewise it's a pair of Alpinestars GP Pro glove in summer and a pair of HELD Ice-Breaker gloves in winter. Although the Ice-Breakers have won loads of awards and are meant to be one of the best winter gloves available for £100 odd, my fingers still get frozen through during my 25 mile journey each day. I've been trying to find a solution to frozen and numb fingers for years. I've tried four different heated grips (Oxford digitals have been best but still only warm the inside of your hand - not the front of your fingers where it matters) and I tried muffs - but they don't fit on sports bikes very well! All that's really needed is a wind break to stop the freezing wind hitting the front of the glove - but I've never found anything suitable. So if anyones got an answer, please let me know!

    New around here

Hi. Just dropping a quick message to introduce myself. I'm Nathan and the owner of a 07 midnight black R6. I was the owner of a ebony (I like black) Kawasaki ZX636 (let the flaming begin ) until it was written-off by a bloke in a 4x4. Unfortunately I was on the bike at the time so it resulted in a few broken bits of my own. Able to ride again now tho and 3rd party admitted liability so got the R6. Amazing bike. Thought the ZX636 was good, the R6 is on another level. Anyway, looks like a wicked forum so hope to be asking and answering questions and making some new mates. Cheers.
