  1. what does it say in the owners handbook re:oil? full synth is chemically made and semi's are cracked mineral oils and are worlds apart and are specific for a particular type of engine. Because of this, early synth oils broke their polymer chains by mixing and caused blockages as the oil changed, not so sure nowerdays.

    Even synths differ in their make-up and you have to check contents listing. true synths are group 4 oils (fuchs etc) I only know this when I went for oil for my Renault and it was a minefield. I settled on 5w 40 Fuchs supersynth SL for the car.

    please don't use sick 50 (not a spelling mistake)

    hello boyo your about as rare as a nodding biker;had one of those with a predator full system, KN filter n dynod had140mph (off the clock) n would beat blades upto 4th gear north wales is my playground A5,A494llangolan ruthin denbigh. would post pics but am crap on pc andont know how yet

  3. The pro:s n cons of semi/full synthetic oil, can they be slightly mixed up??(if out of one can you top up with the other)

    and whats the pro;s with slick 50, can it be mixed with both oils in a bike with a wet clutch, anybody know :unsure::unsure:

  4. just joind up so here i am in all my morning glory!! :blink: bin rideing since 17, now 36 do average 20,000miles a year, every year all year, no car licence, got my first points carrying a girl pillion on "L"plates have ridden or ownd them all, blades vtr,vfr tl1000,klr, gpz,xtz tdms,R1,R6,xlr250s,and more besides. Bikes girls drink dakar foo fighters, family , in that order, 2 kids a longterm g-friend and abit on the side(shhhh), ideal rideing partner; a married woman early 40s 5ft4 slim who rides as hard as me and can go the distance :P:P oooohhh wolfy you animal (is what they say) :D:D

  5. yo lewis had me first tdm 850 at the tender age of 21, its a big bike allwreet -get it moveing an it melts between your legs. put me in hospital for 3 months though an had to learn how to walk again so treat them 70-80 bhp with respect coz every man an his dog is out to knock you off, its roads we are talking about here not field rideing on a stollen scrambler. As a new rider you are;, im dissapointed more people havent offerd advice to you , but thats the sad state of bikeing this day n age (try getting a nod off a supperbike rider when you ride a giant traily) good luck boyo :):)

  6. used to have anXTZ660 TENERE twin headlight model bought with 400 miles on clock sold it with 68000miles. :blink:

    got 320miles to a full tank, used it every day (300miles a week) every week of the year mostly motorways.

    never used off road but it kurbed well; dont believe all you read about this bike; keep it moveing and it will reward,

    with easy cheep maintanance cheep insurance,tax and about 12000 miles aset of rubber at a push YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE;;; gud but basic soft suspension top speed110 and brakes that dont intimadate.push it hard and it talks dirty to ya :P with the tyres,spokes frame, and suspenders all twisting and torquin., mine went on ebay buy now £500 an sold in 45 minutes GOD I MISS IT :(:(:(
