  1. I have a 1998 YZ400f i just recently got a few months ago. It runs awsome and is an all around great bike!

    but... about ever couple of rides (a hour or two each) i foul a plug! (iv'e gone through 3 now)

    the plugs are all carbon fouled.

    when it runs it runs awsome, but you'l go to start it up the next day, and it wont even fire.

    i have already leaned up the neetle jet a notch and the pilot jet a bit too, and i'm waiting to see what happens.

    is this all i need to do, or do i need to make furthur adjustments?

    hi had same prob myself ,on fzr600 the idle mix was set to rich and the unburnt fuel was carbonizing on plugs couldnt start it next day ,check to see what manual says how many turns out it should be ,thats a starting point mine was 3 but its actually at 4 now the older the bike the more you have to tinker also check to see if air filter blocked that would also stop air getting through . let me know how you got on hope this helps john

  3. ANY ONE KNOW WOT OHLINS WILL FIT FZR600 1993 3HE MODEL ,MUST BE SOME BIKE THAT HAS SAME FIXINGS , ANY OTHER RECOMENDATIONS , OTHER THAN BUY R6, CHEERS ALL

    also any ideas for any mods (cosmetic or performane)

    oh yeh and what 600cc bikes will it beat, (i know it would depend on the rider) so besume that it was the same ride o every 600,

    will it beat prettend much every engine size smaller?

    hi check out my fzr in gallery ,would of thought your cbr600 was a better handler, so ive been told , not sure on 0 to 60 etc , but in couple of weeks there is a meet at elvington near york were u can do accurate speed tests for £45 .done loads to mine as u can read up in gallery looking at dyno jet and k n filters now , best mod u can do is get rid or rear shock if u got standard one its crap , any way just mail me if i can help , happy tinkering

  5. Dynojet kit and professional setup on a rolling road should help to smoothen the curve out. Besides that I dunno, spose you could turbocharge it :lol:

    was thinking of dyno will see if i can find one, think turbo a bit extreme would prob blow up :lol:

  6. If you put on a performance airfilter you will have to re jet the carbs as the engine will be running too lean due to the extra gas flow the exaust and filter give it.

  7. I havent been on a motorcycle since 1980(1976 kx400).Found an old 1986 yamaha fzx700 fixer upper for $800.Runs good and fast when I can get it started.Also it has pretty cool looks,doesnt look out of style.Hope to be on the road soon.

    So,hello from a new "old" biker. :D

  8. i never thought stoner would stay on his ducati never mind win races. thought ducati were mad to drop gibernau and give stoner a ride .hes really given rossi a run for his money ,maybe it will bring out more of rossi genuis ,what do you think .of to donnington in couple of weeks hopefully yamaha can squeeze a bit more out of the bike ,watch this space !

  9. firstly hello to all. I am also a member of c2c forom for my car and saw this so thought would see if it was as fun.

    well other half went out on my bike on friday. was lovely when he went out and then came back and he had been playing silly bugger ON MY BIKE and come off. scratched the lower right fairing broken the mid right and nose cone.

    how f##ked off was i.

    was glad his sholder hurt as has hurt my baby.

    mind you would have been a lot worse if had not had my crash musrooms on as that is really hammered

    an expensive weekend alround

    im new here but can hope someone can help please......

    my yamaha r6 year 2000 wont start...at first when pushed ignition in it would click somewhere under the seat where the electrics are.tried again a few days later and the clicking under the seat was louder.then tried again today,a month later and the clicking was still loud but now theres no clicking and no electrics working at all....please help if you can as i know nothing about bike repairs....thanks if you can

    HI THE CLICKING IS THE STARTER RELAY TELLING YOU THERE ISNT ENOUGH POWER IN YOUR BAT ,THE FUEL PUMP LAST FOR ABOUT 6 SECONDS AND IS A SERIOUS OF MULTIPLE CLICKS ,I WOULD SAY YOUR BAT IS FLAT AND PROB NACKERED IF ITS BEEN STOOD , BIN IT AND BUY A NEW ONE , BUY GOOD QUALITY ONE , I BUY ONE EVERY YEAR,

  11. so i just start working on my bike its a old 400 xs special and it's running rich on the left side i think it might be timing but im not for sure i have white smoke comming out the left exhaust and it back fires alot. what do you think?

    HAD SOME BACKFIREING ABOUT 2 YR AGO , HADNT NIPPED HEADER PIPES ON TIGHT ,DONT KNOW WHY BUT IT CAUSES BF , ALSO BUILD UP OF UN BURNT FUEL IN CARBS

    Just got a 99 R1 lovely bike done 14k

    Only problem is that it doesn't seem to hold temp and constantly drops to read LO on display?!

    Is this just normal on them?

    Any else suffered this problem is it common?

    HI DONT RIDE R1 BUT MY BIKE WAS DOING THE OPP READING HIGH ALL TIME , CHANGED LOADS BITS SPENT A FORTUNE . THE ANSWER BAD CONNECTION ON WIRING LOOM -WHEN SWITCHING ON LIGHTS WAS CROSSING CIRCUIT . MIGHT HELP

  13. started last nov 06 , took r6 seat unit choped it a little re finished it , made undertray covered it with carbon effect sheet bought of e bay very realistic ,

    fitted sv650 shock to lift back end up a little ,

    fitted gixxer 600 carbon tail tidy ,led rear brake light ,

    painted all in black with metal flake blue ,

    dropped forks down by 5 mm ,

    fitted aprilla can with link made by pickering performance ,

    yoshimura rearsets lifted feet up and back gives a better riding postion ,

    r1 carbon rearsets not too good tho scratch easy ,

    new black double bubble ,

    set new conti road attack stick like glue,slightly larger on back ,

    fitted renthals front and back dropping tooth on front gives better acceleration but have lost a bit top end ,

    just ordered carbon mirrors and flush mounted indicators from tank pads in usa will post pics when on

    any one got any other ideas of mods i can do thanks would appreciate any help

  14. There are a million things wrong with the street bike I'm working on but until I sort out the drive train, nothing else really matters. Right now, I'm working on the engine and the clutch and I have found myself at a deficit in information on how to find the parts I need to replace. Do any of you have any information on finding fz750 parts in general, or on these parts in particular:

    Engine:

    intake manifold

    cam sprocket bolts

    I-1 camshaft cap

    spark plugs

    Clutch:

    small pushrod

    ball

    basket

    hi i have always been able to find everything i need on ebay , but u probably already looked there ,
