  7. Hi All Have posted this in the newbie forum but thought it best to post here as well to get some replies. I have just bought my first Virago XV 125cc. Don't know the age of it as it is on French plates, the chap I bought it from bought it in France when he lived there, he bought it in Dec, 2000 and brought it to the UK in 2001, when it arrived here in the UK it started to have a miss fire problem, only running on 1 cylinder and the garage he took it to could not find the prob, they changed the carb, ( the old card is in bits in a bag) looks like the have put new carb, rubber flanges on, new plugs etc, but with no success, so they gave up as it was starting to cost too much money, so it has sat in his garage since then. So it's not reg, in the UK and has never had an MOT or tax in the UK. Can any body advise on what I need to do to get it reg, in the UK, I have the French paperwork, one is a, prefecturedes yvelines, which has his name, his French address, date de 1st mise en circulation 13-1-2000, N0 dans la serie du type (G) JYA5A00000109835, No immatriculation 512 blo 78 with a date 13-1-2000 and the other paper is a carte international D'Assurance automobile card, anybody speak French I have looked on the DVLA site but it's a bit confusing so any help would be great. I have been looking for a workshop manual for the Yamaha Virago XV 125cc but don't seem to be able to find one for a 125cc they all seem to be for 535 and up, anybody know where I can get one from, second hand would be fine, will def, need one to try and sort the miss fire prob, as could be anything from fuel to electrical, just hope it's not something worse, but he did say that there was no knocking, smoke etc, just running on 1 cylinder and it was running fine in France before it was packed up and sent to the UK, to be honest I paid peanuts for it considering the condition is good for the age of it and also the fact that it has been left in a garage for 12 years, so I won't mind spending some cash on it to get it running and MOT'd etc, Any help would be welcome. Many thanks Carl
  8. Hi all from sunny Cardiff. New to the forum as I have just bought my first Virago 125. Trying to relive my youth when I had a Yamaha RD 250 when they first came out, as well as other bikes over the years. Not been a rider now for 20 years but got the bug again, must be mad so I decided to buy a, do upper, ( see my other post) You will prob, be hearing from me quite a bit, asking silly questions as and when I get started with the repairs of the XV125 I have bought, so please be patient with me Cheers Carl
