maybe you can trickle charge the battery once a week to keep it topped up. just at weekends .
i like this idea. one of the main reasons for getting these underglow lights is to have them turned on when the bike is parked. but i do have several things hooked up to the battery and a few hours probably does draw a lot more than i realize. and it only recently started causing problems and i've had the lights for a year now.

my bike's battery went dead last night. i have an Alien Motion battery that is only about a year and a half old. i have 100+ LEDs as an underglow kit on my bike that i turn on when i ride at night.
and if i park in some kind of public place, i leave them on, slow pulsating mode. this kit is supposed to just draw 0.2 amps. i've noticed over the past couple weeks that when i've left my bike parked with the LEDs on for more than a couple hours, they've been turned off when i return to the bike to leave. the bike has started up just fine though. last night i left my bike parked for about 4 hours. when i got back to it, no LEDs, no battery life whatsoever. do these LEDs drain more battery than i think? is this Alien Motion battery actually crap? are you not supposed to leave these LEDs on for extended periods of time?
well i jumped the bike with no problem and it started right up twice more during the day after that. so the battery appears OK. is it possible the LEDs are drawing more power than advertized?

didn't know you guys had flashing traffic lights. that's a good idea. wish we had those in the states

gnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhh cheezy '80s music! Couldn't sit through the whole video because of it. Jimmy's right (and I'm not even a particular fan of country)...
only because it was playing on Pandora when the ocean came into view, and i wanted to do something different. i mostly use hard rock songs to my videos and wanted something a little more sprighty or uplifting for a change. this clip is one of the least edited videos i've done. from start to finish only took me a couple hours. you can check out my other riding videos here:

that looks like a win to me

i wear Shure earbuds so i can listen to music while i ride. music clarity is excellent and the noise cancellation blocks out a lot of wind and road noise. earplugs are almost mandatory for us if you're going to be spending hours on the road going 80mph.

i would love to answer you since i have a 950, but i have no idea what you're talking about. what the hell are panniers?

about 12 hours, probably 500 miles

day trip from Austin to Galveston this past weekend. reason for the song is because that's what was playing on Pandora the moment the ocean came into view. not sure why video quality suffers towards the end; could be combo of dust and salty air that collected on the camera case. tried to fix it in post as best as i could. -
how do i upload photos into the member's gallery?
i click on the gallery link, then click on the 'upload' link to the right, then i'm at step 1. it says "no album or category selected". and it give me a link to select a category. i select "member's rides" and then it takes me to the member's rides gallery. i click on the upload link on the right again and then i'm stuck in a loop.

am i the only American on this site? i've noticed that nearly everyone on here is from Europe and haven't seen any other American post yet. how is that? i see nothing on the site that makes it look geared towards one country or continent over another, and the site is simply for yamaha owners. i feel like an outsider.

i use soft throwover saddlebags. but they hold up to 2400 cubic inches and one of the biggest you can find. i have plenty of clearance from the pipes when i use them

i like to trade vehicles at stop lights. like these guys.

i recommend the Mustang seat. i road over 800 miles in one day and the only part of me that wasn't aching or fatigued was my butt.
what's so bad about Yamaha windshields? i have one for mine with a quick disconnect mount. works great and couldn't be happier with it. i just put it on whenever i'm going to be on the highway or doing long riding.
i also have the Yamaha big bar engine guard that i think looks really great with the lines of the 950.
here are some sites i've gone to find accessories for the 950:

LEDs draining battery?
in The Bar
Posted
it's made by Alien Motion.

i wouldn't guess the battery is going out after just a year and a half. and while i have multiple things hooked up to it, none should be drawing any power other than the LEDs when the bike is off (HID headlight which actually draws less power than the halogen bulb i replaced, and a powerpoint that only draws when i'm charging something with it). and the bike has started right up every time since i jumped it last weekend. i ride every day, mostly just a few miles at a time between stops.
