[TZR125 Crank Seal]

Hi all

I have a TZR125 and have changed the (right hand) crank seal but it still uses the gearbox oil. So far I have tried genuine seals and pattern (mounted the right way round) - also put a new spacer with 'O' ring on the outer edge.

All to date still has not stopped engine using the oil from the gearbox aswell - recently got another engine (complete) as I want one to tune up slightly - that does exactly the same.

Any ideas from anyone - getting annoyed with it now !!!

Have split the cases and made sure the seal between them is good also !!! - and checked the vent is clear so its not pressure building with the box etc

I have rebuilt DT125RE and currently doing a TZR125 both the exhaust pipes are completly

different shape - hope this helps - I presume its exhaust downpipe you are refering to.

In response to Mike1949 - well was in RAF until 1991 lived (Redlands) in Chippenham between 1989 until 1995. Always had motorcycles and really

enjoy playing with them aswell as the riding - Now I don't have to ride to work (retired) have become more of a fair weather rider but not all the time.

As I am meant to have time on my hands decided to get 1 or more bikes to rebuilt and maybe sell on - just enjoy the rebuilding bit - so getting something

thats interesting is what I look for, as two stroke are becoming rare thats where I head usually

First time on site - have already done DT125RE for my lad etc, liked that when I ran it in before letting him loose on it

so bought myself a TZR125 (partly modified to R) one thing I would like to know is there a restricting element to stop

the motor revving high - thought within the DT125 there was a mod to alter the wiring within speedo to allow full revs.

Usually ride FZS1000 - but the little 2-stroke motors are brilliant, may try to find TZR250 later !!!
