  1. Alright mate just checked ebay for you and the standard sprocket sizes are as follows,

    16 Tooth front sprocket

    57 Tooth rear sprocket

if you are after more top end performance the you can either get a smaller rear sprocket or a larger front sprocket, i wouldnt reccomend going to much lower though, maybe just go up a tooth on the front. By doing this you do lose some performance accelerating.

In my opinion the bikes are fast enough with the standard sprocket sizes and have great power through out the gears.

Let me know how you get on, goodluck! heres a link for the standard chain and sprockets providing your bike is on the title of the listing, http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2316f86209

thanks keiran, with all the mods done to my bike im only getting 65mph from it and wanted to change the sprockets to see if i could get it to do 75mph.would you recommend me only going down one tooth on the back sprocket

Was an interesting angle i admit but it done the job. Id recomend the drc edge 2 tail light if youre to go for one, as for renthal bars i couldnt see the point.

i take it the drc edge 2 tail light fits straight into where the standard back light goes?

  3. Ah you mean that modification, well the few people who I know to have done it with their DT's have noticed little, if any difference to their bikes, so I left mine alone, although I did change the reed petals from fibre glass ones to carbon fibre, and noticed there was an added "crispness" to the throttle.

did you have re-jet after fitting the carbon fibre reed petals and do you have a link to them

  4. Aye Spurs, reckon you need to ellaborate on that type of mod mate, as mines pretty much been modded to the hilt, and the air intake manifold is a new one on me, unless you mean making it fit a bigger carb, like say a 34mm Mikuni, from a standard 26-28mm one? the only thing I've done to mine concerning that area is to take off the snorkel, so as to lean off mine slightly as it was running a tad rich.

scroll down on link to find it.

  5. I did, it didnt go any slower, but probably no faster either...the thing is I did a few things all at the same time so how each individual change worked out was a bit lost! I must say though I prefer the way I did it to the usual one proffered by others

what way did you do it?

  6. Depends how windy, hilly, even your jacket and helmet make diferences, a stock Mito is still only a 70mph bike with 12hp and it has less weight and a lot less drag.

If your getting a genuine 65mph from your dt you are not doing half bad. Having road tyres will help and missing the windjammer muddy on the front too but a cow born in a stable is still a cow.

it has road tyres,if 65 mph is all that it is capable of doing then i have to accept this

  7. Because it has the aerodynamics of a barn door. Its primary purpose is crossing open country safely not going fast.

Would you expect a landrover to perform like a porche. I have said it many times before but my TDR is very similar aerodynamically and has double the cc and over 4 times the hp, that is only good for 100. But the same engine, and i mean nigh on identical (different first gear) engine in the TZR250 will do 130mph.

i know it wont do the speed of a cagiva mito or aprilia rs but i though you would be able to get 75 mph from the sm

  8. i have recently bought an 07 yamaha dtr 125 sm.it came with the standard exhaust and dep end can but bought a dep exhaust and had it fitted, whilst at the garage they looked at the powervalve and said it was set up correctly.there is a wire that looks like it comes from the speedo and is earthed to the battery (i cannot remember the colour without looking)regardless of all this the bike will not do more than 65 mph,why is this
