which is the best air filter for the yzf 125r

can you get aftermarket hand guards for the dtr sm or do you have to buy original only
-
I bought some for my XT afew weeks ago. They were £25 and they are sound. I also bought a renthal bar pad for a tenner and you can't tell the bars are only cheap ones. I bought these

There is a picture of my handlebars if you go to the bar section and look at the 'fitting new handlebars' post.
did you buy the rethnal bar pad from ebay too,i would have to find out if the bars you bought would fit my bike

im trying to source some blue handlebars for my dtr sm but cannot seem to find any, does anyone know where i can purchase some.
-
i am going to replace my dep exhaust with the standard one that iv'e had de-restricted,im also going to change the end can but dont know which one to get,any recommendations.
-
does it matter if you earth the green and black wire behind the speedo clocks on the dtr 125x to the frame or battery or is it to the frame only
-
where is the cdi unit situated on the dtr sm
-
i'd like to hear other folks views

True.
Big rear sprocket = better acceleration, lower top speed.
Small rear sprocket = better top speed. lower acceleration.
However;
There is a price to pay because if you mess with the sprockets you affect the gearing so riding up hills or with a head wind will be more difficult. Only consider doing this is you ride mainly in top at near the top end of your bikes speed. With a DT I wouldn't change the gearing. If you do intend to, minus one tooth would be enough. There is a spreadsheet to calculate what the changes would be in Excel. You should be able to find it with a little googling - motorcycle gearing worksheet or LINKY for an online one.
so you recommend i keep the standard sprockets?
-
im led to beleive that by using a smaller back sprocket i will get more top end speed, how many teeth do i need to go down on from the standard sprocket
-
i have removed the cat from my standard dtr sm exhaust, once put on the bike should i get the same performance has the dep exhaust but with a different sound?
-
It may be its because the dep doesnt have a spout so the fumes arnt being directed whereas the standard one does and the one on your mito most likely did to.
My bike gear always smelt of 2 stroke, i eventually got used to it.
my standard exhaust on the dtr sm does not have a spout ryan just a straight pipe the same has the dep,i think you could be refering to none sm dtr's
-
thats your problem then, get a rubber joint fitted, easily bought from fleabay
is there a specific rubber joint for the dtr

thats your problem then, get a rubber joint fitted, easily bought from fleabay
i would imagine this would work has i have it now?
-
is the rubber joint between the exhaust and silencer leaking?
i cannot remember if there was one when the standard exhaust was on the bike but there was not when the bike shop fitted the dep exhaust.i noticed that once the dep exhaust was fitted that oil was leaking from where it joined the end can has it did not marrie up correctly,i has to put some gum gum round it and then a piece of rubber tubing held in place with two jubilee clips
-
Its a 2 stroke, its pretty unavoidable im afraid.
why did i not have this problem with the standard exhaust fitted.i did not have the problem with the cagiva mito, thats prob because the end can is lower down on the bike
-
Par for the course un fortunately.
will a different end can sort the problem?
-
what's the problem?
best smell around
not when your clothes are stinking of it its not
-
my dtr sm came with a standard exhaust and dep end can,i had a dep exhaust fitted and ever since my jacket and if carrying a rucksack smell badly of oil after a ride out wether it be for 5 mins or an hour.does anyone else have this problem with the full dep system fitted?
-
Its in the expansion chamber, you have to cut open the exhaust to remove it and have it welded back together again.
i forgot to add that the bike is an 07 plate,is the cat still in the expansion chamber on this year?
-
where is the cat converter on the standard exhaust for the yamaha dtr 125x sm,i want to remove it.
