  2. heeelp, i have realized after a long search 2 days that i have lost my bike key, yes it was the only one , and yes went through the standard 6 hour hunt in the most irrelevant of places... any way my plea is for advice ,,, how do i et a replacement , where and how much is this likely to cost??? is there a postal service to be recommended...

  3. thats helpfull ha ha ha , i just managed to buy a whole new engine from the crank up and two wheels with great tyres and good disc all for a rather tasty £300 snots. apperently its only done <16000 and its still shiney, i can get that shoved in and then find another ball aching problem... ah the joys of motoring... i named it the dragfar . . now come on boys stop your bickering.

  4. Fraid so mate, should move but 5mil seems a bit loose, ok so that is one knock sorted and as you have it apart check every thing else out as well and yes decoke it while you can, don't forget to check the crank shaft as well while your at it one thing can lead to another I'm afraid. :jossun:

ok thanks , i might as well just take it apart all together, there was a sort of pinking noise that came from the rear cylinder , would it be fair to say that that could of been the piston hitting the head ?? thanks for your advice by the way

  5. Jimmy, try to move the con rod up and down to see how much play there is and if it moves where is it moving also look at the main bearings (crankshaft) to see if there is any play in that, there should be some small amount of movement in both but no more than a couple of thou, then look in your manual to see what it says about end float play and try to measure what you have compared to what it should be ( couple of thou is a guess) once you find out where the play is come back with the info and we will try to help out. Plus just because it sounds knocky from the back of the engine that don't mean that's where it's coming from so check both ends of the crank shaft, it might be an oil pump that is giving up the ghost and have nothing to do with the con rods or crank shaft. Good luck mate and let us know how it's going. Martin. :jossun:

thanks , as it happens i did have a tug on the piston earlier on (no pun intended) i must of been able to lift the piston a good 5mm up and down , is this looking bad ,?

  6. hello i was looking for a gasket set for my 125 dragfar, i had noticed there is far too much in the variation of price, for example a full gasket set on ebay for 30 quid, or a full set elsewhere from 70 quid and so on, as i have never bought gaskets for bikes before i wondered what is the difference (besides price) ? are cheep gaskets more likely to fail ? is it a case of "buy cheap and buy twice"? is there a brand that is worth avoiding ? is there a brand that is worth going after for all the right reasons ????????????? please advise

  7. C:\Users\Little Dear\Pictures\2011-10-30 yoc\yoc 004.JPGok , so all joking aside for a brief time, i got started on taking the rear cylinder off my xvs 125 , i was hoping to find a problem that was screaming out at me but i found nothing apparent, i did however notice that a few bolts and fixings were loose and the odd one or two the wrong size and cross threaded, not really a problem as i have bigger fish to fry (as they say).as i am a novice at this i really hoped to see unusual rough metal or something , i had looked at the oil detail hoping to find swarf or filings of any discription but nothing, good news on one side but that still leaves me looking for the problem. now this is where some help is very welcome....... so the inside of the piston is as smooth as you would expect , when i pull on the cylinder there is slight movement -is this normal? as for the cylinder head there is no play or movement in the valves -

  8. i have to slip my granny tablets every day, she doesnt know she is taking them, sometimes i do feel bad about tricking her,................but i would hate it if i got her pregnant..

  9. oh and just to display non favoritism ...... everyone has rocked a fat bird, mmmm how can i discribe it ??? oh yes ...it looked like it had spat her gum shield out, muhahamuhahah muhaha

  10. ha ha ha , i dunno about the diameter of there apertures i think its pot luck, some skinny ones i porked had an undercarriage like that of a donkeys yawn or should i say a wizzards sleave or perhaps loose as a clowns pocket, i remember one in particular she was a very slim chick i was astounded to find down there something that was like a melted welly, but judging by the grid on gillian mckieth i would be inclined to think she is as tight as a tiger, you know the one tight as a mouses ear !!! muhahaha muha muhahaha
