gorgeous colour mate, i pick mine up on thursday. i have gone for the blue/black/white.
As i am buying it brand new i only had the choice of the black/gold and white/black, and my leathers are black/blue/white so made sense to match
have you changed the exhaust yet as the standard does sound like a lawn mower
cant change mine until i have ran it in 500miles, wont take long though as i am off work that day

looks great
loving the colour scheme

There are a few of us in the local area to you. We don't have a regular meting, unless they haven't told me

Hi casperj, welcome to the forum
watch out for the grumpy old gits.
Apparently I'm one of them.
Seriously though, there is a lot of experience here, you've done the right thing by introducing yourself properly.
hi Mike, im sure your only grumpy when people write stupid things
yes i noticed that about the experience side on here.
nice to meet you Mike.
hey do they have any meets at all through the year, be good to put names to faces eventually

The other factor is that a lot of YZF125Rs are getting crashed, nicked and generally written off. The effect is that the bike is being loaded heavily by insurers. The engine size does not matter to the insurers if the bike keeps being claimed for/against. It is easily written off, as it has a lot of plastics and these are not cheap.
The bike is a victim of its own success.
yeah good point, but yamaha have still hit the nail on the head with this bike!
I agree that the bike is a victim of its own success, but for a learner to have one of these bikes and still feel like you are riding a big bike is a great advantage in one aspect, just does not obviously have the power of a big bike. But then again i know i need to learn to ride so this is a great starting point and still having the looks to go with it.

I was a despatch rider in London for 15 years, some of the shit I saw daily, was just ridiculous.
A 'bloke' was on his bike riding along and this car driver cut him up almost knocking the 'bloke' off his bike. The 'bloke' bibbed his horn and shook his head. The car driver was shouting his gob off and giving wanker hand signals.
At the set of lights they were both approaching, the 'bloke' put his bike on the stand and walked back towards the car, at which point the driver got out and then immediately saw the trouble he was in. He was nowhere near as big as the 'bloke' on the bike and he shit himself and said "I don't want any trouble!"
The 'bloke' on the bike said, "Well what did you get out of the fucking car for?"
Then the 'bloke' punched the car driver and knocked him sparko. Then he walked back to his bike as if nothing happened and carried on with his day.
Moral of the story?
Don't upset a 'bloke' on a bike who is considerably bigger than you, and when he bibs his horn at you, it's because you nearly caused an accident. If somebody does bib at you, cos you're a careless car driving twat, have the brains to acknowledge you were in the wrong in the first place. That way you'll go home with all your teeth.
here, here. that driver shat his self i bet lol!
i am a car driver also and do own a bike, and when i am driving my car and see a bike i am always cautious near them. i had this guy on a bike who rode like an absolute cock and i mean filtering by me was like something i had never seen coming to a stop at a round about. i was just about to pull out and he cut me up bigtime, right into my lane.
now i can appreciate yes he probably was in a rush and he was overtaking everything everywhere
but to ride where you are putting other cars in danger is something even i would not do, i wouldnt mind but he does it every morning lol!
the moral of this story is that even though i am about to ride a bike aswell, i would not ride like i wanted to kill myself and others, and it is true that car drivers do not respect bikes one bit.
maybe if they had rode a bike too then they would be more careful towards bikers and respect the fact that they are on 2 wheels with no metal box to protect them.

Hey guys,
So as I'm turning 17 in July I have prematurely started looking for insurance quotes and the best I have so far been offered for a 17 year old with 1 years no claim bonus a bike locked in a garage is £822.27 by Swinton. I have looked on the usual comparison websites and cannot so far find anything lower than this for a fully comp. The reason I'm going fully comp is the bikes worth £2500 ish and I'm rather reluctant to tempt fate with TPFT again this year as I've done with my TZR.
Anyone happen to know of any good insurance brokers for a 125?
Cheers guys
i have just been qouted £157 fully comp through www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk. and that was for my yam yzf 125r 2011 plate.
but i am alot older than you and i have 15yrs no claims bonus from driving lol!!
sorry to put a damper on things, its your age mate thats killing ya. insurers these days on teenagers love you guy's as they see you as a high risk, where as this is my first bike and i have not ridden before yet my premium is way lower.
hope you get a better price mate
