  1. yeah i do :eusa_doh: the frame is still waiting to be straightened (going to get a pro to do it though)

the cost is the stumbling block. every time i've got £500 spare an emergency pops up and it gets

spent :eusa_doh: still not got over having to buy a transit after my fiat went pop.... moment i am i'll carry this on

  2. They vary. I think now the yzf r-125 is around, that seems to be popular for prople after a 125 sports bike. My mate picked up a Belgarda for 300. Saw a project go for about 800. A good one seems to be about 1500. Nikisil plated though but so are the nsr125 and rs125 I think.

the nikisil barrels give an extra 2-4 bhp because of the tighter clearances. people get put off them because of the expense of repairing the nikisil (£130+)

  3. i've now given up for over 2 years (3rd time of giving up though) i did it with willpower the 1st 2 times, couldn't do it myself the 3rd. i went to the doc and got prescribed champix... they worked a treat (some proper nasty vivid dreams though) had a fag and a cigar last weekend when pissed (still love the smell) wont be doing that again. i never say never, but i think i'm through with it now.... good luck and never stop giving up :eusa_whistle:

  4. its process of elimination i'm afraid fella. get a long screw driver, hold the handle against your ear and touch t'other end against the engine to find out where the noise is coming from (head, clutch area, water pump, crank etc) was it a full rebuild or just the head,if it was did it have a rebore? if its had a rebore, did it have the power valve ground to match? all a ballache, but most rattles aren't good :shakeno:

  5. Glad you got sorted with your new frame Dave, albeit a bit twisted, I'd drop a plumb bob off the end of the frame either side of the rear wheel too, to see how true the frame is at the back.

cracking idea that nev! had a looksie and its about 25mm out :eusa_doh: soon get that sorted out tho :biglaugha: gonna pop all the bits off that frame onto my other frame and have a field bike too which is a bonus :jossun:

  6. well the new toy has arrived (before the sheds built :eusa_shifty: ) started stripping it down to prep the frame for powdercoating AND....... its bent :madflame: its ONLY the rear subframe (i was advised by an avid motocrosser) he had a measure up using straight edges and a tape. just heat it up and bend it back into shape he said  i came up with this....

    014-1.jpg

its worked out well and now its not too far out (5-7 mm)

    015-1.jpg

i'm going to take the last of the kink out with a pipe bender and blow torch :eusa_whistle: after that i'll heat up the whole rear end with the blow torch till its blue and then dunk it in a water butt to set it :hyper: its all good fun.... :eusa_doh:

  7. i've got a jack russell, emmie the small gay dog...

    001-2.jpg

she's a light sleeper, good barker... but her yoda impression is crap....

    010.jpg

but on a serious note, bitches are far more loyal than dogs i've found. also make sure you know the exact history of the dog you rescue. i still got scars on my right hand from a dog whose previous owner used to beat him while drunk, rescue home did'nt tell me...came home from pub, stroke the dog,dog goes CHOMP.... my mate always had akita's...big,powerfull,very clever and very loyal. look cool too...

  8. Just tuned back into your thread after being away from the forum for a couple of months and as many others have mentioned, gutted for you. I was looking forward to seeing a complete bike with all those shiny parts but as usual the pen pushers of the world are holding you up. Chin up and keep fighting :)

cheers weimie! and not to worry,i've acquired another dt (E reg,non matching engine and frame numbers) perfect for my little project. plus i'll get a decent field bike out of it too :yeah: just gotta get my arse in gear and go pick it up..... :smash:

  9. I doubt it works for mechanical parts either, take my fuel tank for example 2a6-24110

    and a DT125X is 2n4-24110

not trying to do you down with this david but its the first letters that are key...24110 simply means fuel tank

good job i never proclaimed meself as a genius lol i swear it worked for me,tho all the numbers need to match (even the number/letter combos after the main code) if i figure out how i made it work i'll update lol....

oh and saw this on flea bay nev...

Item number: 160692405251 any good to ya?

  10. hmmm no dont think so david, perhaps you were just lucky

thats like saying a DTR CDI #3mb-85540 will be good to use on a DT175 #2A7-85540, infact every yamaha out there will have 85540 for its CDI as that is the number for CDI, the key is the first letters and numbers

    or am i misinterpreting you?

ahh i see what you mean now... maybe it only works for mechanical parts and not the electrical side then? it defo works for bearings etc,but maybe thats because they are parts bin sourced?

  11. have a looksie at this site mate... its what i've been using to cross reference parts for my build... i was told that the 1st part of any yamaha code is the model it 1st came from eg 3mb,3bn,4fu etc etc now if the last part number matches yours it will fit :jossun: thats how i knew the wr 200 and yz bits would fit mine... http://www.megazip.ru/ru/bike/yamaha/view/1054/14418/178177#g178203 and http://www.megazip.ru/ru/bike/yamaha/view/435/13421/156569#g160576 worth saving that site, can save you a fortune :hyper: according to that, your brembo and the dtx brembo are the same?

  12. now that sounds like a plan :spin2: i'll look into that idea! i've seen lads on other forums heat and stretch the inlet (pushing a bottle or similar into it as it heats) but i think ths hose is too old/solid for this..... its all good fun

  13. well the snows been and boy has it held things up :eusa_shifty: cant pour the cement for my slab, let alone start my new shed :shakeno: i've been forced to find other ways to amuse myself

    002-3.jpg

a few pics of the new 35mm carb

    006-3.jpg

yet another little problem to sort out is the airbox hose

    005-3.jpg

    oh,and the inlet side too....

    007-3.jpg

now the inlet is off a tzr (straight) with a collar fitted to accommodate the carb. but the dt inlet is kinked to avoid the shock. i'm going to have to remove and refit the collar, but i've no idea how it was sealed? its defo not silicone and its softer than plastic? its almost like wax... if anyone has any ideas what it might be,let me know. i'd be very grateful... also, has anyone had any experience in making they're own airbox hoses?

  14. now that looks gorgeous and with loads of potential :smash: i had the pleasure of borrowing one of these off a mate who went off to thailand for a month. really didn't want to give it back, really addictive :eusa_drool: i always wondered if the rc 30 lump could be shoe horned into one.....

  15. All Lazy cunts that work in office's should be shot in both cheek's of the arse,,,,,,,,,, me thinks :thumb:

sounds like a plan :biglaugha: i can see there point tho...they have no record at all on this bike. vosa have the vcar details, but dvla and vosa seem to work separately from each other and dont seem to communicate either :madflame: anyhoo, after a high powered meeting with my mate (too many beers and pool in the local :hah: ) i have another dt on an e plate :hyper: it wont be my ol dt anymore tho :shakeno: but, onwards and upwards hey. it also means i'll have a decent field bike :spin2: i'll add pictures soon of my 35mm carb and inlets from a tzr sidecar outfit! i also won a tdr 4fu cylinder and head on ebay with the nicasil coating still on BUT....the blokes being a nobber (no dispatch 10 days in,won't respond to e-mails etc so that probably wont happen :madflame: gotta love these time wasting gimps :eusa_doh:

  16. :D Yep, one on each foot,,,,, steeting with your big toe might be tricky though

Really though,,,,,she's a beast of a bike  wait till ya see da size of her Lump,,,, ya can barely lift it

    with one finger :babyha:

i'm loving the idea of mini-bike roller skates :hyper: now that would be a you tube moment :biglaugha:

  17. Any news back from DVLA yet Dave? I'd be inclined to get a v5 form and send it off to them, with its original reg number, if they um and arr about it being an insurance write off, ask them to send one of their blokes out, to check the frame , one came out for a scoot I did for the lad, they couldn't understand how a ten year old bike only had 32 miles on it.

still trying to get answers out of them at the mo nev.... its the scrapped bit thats stuffed it tho. they still cant tell me if i can re-use my frame, even for a q plate. the paint i put on is'nt cracked or split on any welds tho and the frame measures up right and its straight? sounds like the usual insurance company "can't be arsed, lets just write it off" approach...or the also common fraud :eusa_think: still on the look out for another frame/bike,i think it might be easier in the long run :shakeno:

  18. well i'm trying to stay focused nev. part of me wants to put it back together and jog it on as a field bike tho :biglaugha: keep trying to crack on,ordering and sorting bits. i found that my wr 200 link arm was bent (and meant the shock fouled the swinger????) my question is... how big was the fat bloke who bent it? 012.jpg

got a link arm off a yz 250 wr from sanfrancisco for a fiver (postage was 35 quid tho :eusa_doh: ) 014.jpg

looks loads longer but works out really well. got a wr 200 rear shock from france (seals knackered, needs a rebuild but £60 was cheap i thought) pictured beside my "other" wr shock which turned out to be a kx shock :madflame:019.jpg

    will clean up well

    018.jpg

also had a hard to find wr rear caliper and mounting bracket turn up from colorado

    015.jpg

got clobbered on import vat for that one,£42 the thieving gits! did a quick before and after on the yz shock links

    023.jpg

and thats about where i'm at so far. the sheds going next, got to crack on with my concrete garage thingy (gonna bodge botch fudge build it out of odd sections given to me by a "mate" :biglaugha: will never be as good as veturas man cave tho :eusa_whistle:......
