  1. If I can afford it, why not splash my money a little on something so beautiful I like the order. I actually wanted to get arai astro light in black but the fit was awful (I hope its just this particular one)! Hence I paid a bit more and got the shoei. I'm very pleased with it and the visor mechanism.
  2. !!! coming from someone who has just crashed.... haha I'm actually a car lover but I've been on the back of an R6 a lot and at high speeds (over 160mph) which got me excited about bikes. Of course the R125 is no where near as fast, but still fun. I used my dad's toolbox...I don't intend on getting my own haha Look after that bike!
  3. Damn...I think I jinxed it!!
  4. More like tool....I used a spanner like this one http://www.splat-world.com/topmarks/images/spanner.jpg (I'm a girl, don't know what it's called lol) Dunno about the scuffs though..it's plastic. I doubt you can fix that, only replace it. I'm considering to buy crash protectors for my bike to avoid your situation. I think in the end, the repairs would cost more than the protector itself. Anyway, good luck!
  5. Don't particularly like them...I have shoei qwest that was quite pricey for me, would seem a waste if I changed it. My "dream" helmet is the arai viper camou lady... http://www.sportsbik..._lady_white.jpg
  6. Nice one. You have it with the black visor?
  7. OUCH!! Hope you're alright now. I nearly did that when a 4x4 pulled out in maybe 2-3 metres in front of me and I braked hard. The front end wobbled like crazy and the back felt slippery. But I held it ou and ever since I have been practicing stopping in short distance. But hey, don't let a crash pull you away from bikes...you will only get better with experience, no? Here's Infinity website: http://www.infinitymotorcycles.com/service/genuine_parts.asp for genuine yamaha parts and I believe they do repairs..but I think it will be costy with them. When I said I repaired it myself, I meant without the replacement part...I only got a quote for it. The actual "handle" is steel I think, so tried to bend it outwards with tools and it worked (it was bent inwards and didn't allow me to shift down). In other areas I;m sure my mechanic skills would fail me...hehe Let us know how the repairs go!
  8. Nice and sunny here in London Washed my bike AND got a tan I see some clouds coming though...
  9. Thanks for your advice, Gas-up! Sadly I cannot part with the Shoei....unless it's for an Arai
  10. Hey there, really sorry to hear you crashed your bike. I also have a yellow R125. I'm no mechanic so can't help you but it sounds like you will be needing new parts which won't come cheap...I had slightly bent the gear lever last week and the replacement cost £45 (from Infinity Motorcycles). Luckily, I managed to repair it myself with tools. Mind telling me how you crashed it? I'm a fairly new rider, would be good to learn from others...Thanks
  11. PC- parking control I was also thinking of using it in bright sunlight, I find that shades restrict my view. Can I ask where you got yours from? Ideally, I'd like to check them out in a store..
  12. not quite! Parking on the kerb in ASDA's car park hahaha I thought a bike can do anything - a view I adopted whilst riding in Dubai
  13. Thanks and I couldn't agree with you more!
  14. Never been caught? You see, I got my first parking ticket the other day , last thing I want is a "visor" ticket haha
  15. Hi all, I'm thinking of investing into a gold iridium (spectra) visor for my black shoei helmet. Most websites state that it is not road legal but how strict is this law? Could I get away with it on sunny days? Temptation is huge!!
  16. Thanksss! I got the rim tape before I even got the bike...how sad, I know hehe I would love to tune it in some way but I cannot think of anything impressive. For now, I'm just going to get a gold/orange visor for my black shoei helmet I think the colour scheme suits me (and my blonde hair) haha
  17. Comments are welcome Before purchase... Now (with polish, a wheel strip and some sunshine )...
  18. Feel free to share your knowledge just sayin'....
  19. Thanks, blackhat, what a warm welcome haha Careful, though, never underestimate a woman
  20. Thanks, it does come as a surprise to many Perhaps you know any long stretches of camera-free roads in London? Gotta love A13 and its forward facing average speed cameras
  21. Hello everyone! I just bought my first Yamaha R125 over a month ago having been on the R6 and R1 and falling in love with them! I was a car lover to begin with...it didn't take the R6 long to change my mind I found this forum whilst googling how to wheelie my bike but some of your comments have convinced me not to do it!! And I'm sure it's for the better! Anyway, I hope to learn from you all and make friends I will be sharing some pics of my bike soon!
