  1. the fzr400 is a great bike, possibly the best handling bike i have ever ridden. for a 400 they go like a little rocket, they rev to 14000 revs, anything passed 8000 revs and they fly.

this was my one the picture was taken in my front garden

Looks well... just stunning, thanks for the feedback :P ill have to do some more research and may have a lil test on um cuz not too sureeeee still but thanks :D

  2. Hey I'm looking at these Japanese import bikes as they are easy to restrict to 33bph (then de-restrict whn i want some fun) ;)

i have seen alot of honda CBR's and seem in good nick however i dont want to leave yamaha as a yamaha was the first big bike i rode (ma dads wr) and i fell inlove with yamaha since.. however if the FZR isn't any good ill look more closely at honda's and qwackers :D helpp meee pleaseeeeee :o

  3. I'm feeling kinda cocky bout this :/ cause mines does 70 and 75 down hill :P in 5th gear! no updates to it,, and 6.4k miles on the clock i done 3k miles since april :P and still runs the same . i think as its only like 11 hp they are effected by weight but im like 12 an half stone and still managed it :/ so not too sure

  4. Hello,

I have a 1993 Yamaha XT 600E. Its a regular XT apart the fact it has a reduced power output (25 kW). It is so called reduced effect bike. My question is, how is the power reduced?

they restrict bigger bikes by restricting the carb................ 33 bhp on this bike i bet its sluggish :/ my dad has one i went on it and was shocked by it ahah however it doesnt have any problems :P

  5. Hi all. Iv got an xt 125 x 07 plate and it has a custom made ASBO exhaust end can. it does about 60 mph top end, it climbs to 60 quickly but then it just stops so i was wondering if there was some sort of restrictor anywere on the bike. Thanks for any help, much appreciated

Also as you say its gets to 60 quickly have you though about putting a bigger front sprocket on it?? it wont pull so fast but will give you more top end also wont be revving the knackers off it (at 70 mph i usually am doin 9400 rpm) and 4th gear maxing out hte at 9900rpm im doing 60 mph.. i think you'll be much better doing the sprockets XD

  6. Hi all. Iv got an xt 125 x 07 plate and it has a custom made ASBO exhaust end can. it does about 60 mph top end, it climbs to 60 quickly but then it just stops so i was wondering if there was some sort of restrictor anywere on the bike. Thanks for any help, much appreciated

right i have the xt 125 r ( so its more a trails version but i think the only difference is the tyres) however i have read that it is virtually impossible to de-restrict, is assume there maybe a re stricter in the carb, but im not going to do out to it as mine does 70-75mph..

but if you got the bike for going fast you shoulda got the RS125 yes its a 2/ but strongly built (kinda) and de-resticted its 33bhp and shy off 100mph.

o and that exhaust may sound nice... but y'all be loosing back pressure, i but a micron 500 on mine (that's on my kart) and I lost a lot (also loosing back pressure on my kart from the exhaust)

  7. Hey, the speed cable is damaged/not working, so i need a new one.

Could you people list any sites/online shops from where i could order it? (Shops which ship internationally)

-- Or from which models would it work too, if that is possible?

    I found this one

    http://www.trailtech.net/800-06.html

but dont really know does it work for wr125r

Also to the people who visit this thread.

Do you know where i could get right side(the one with WR125 letters) sticker?

get in touch with tamworth yamaha? or a yamaha retail shop near you?

  8. not sure what it is but there is a some sort of adjustment under the suspension which looks like it will lower it, I am 6 feet tall and I can only just reach the floor with tips of my toes, its just a little too high for me when I pull up at a junction.

    Tom

I'm only 5ft 9 and i can but both feet flat on the ground :S

  9. Hi,

Does anyone know how to adjust the height on a Yamaha XT 125 R 2010 model ?

    Thanks

    Tom

I have a 57 reg. and tbh i wasn't aware that you can adjust the height. i think its just a naturally low bike as its a mixture of on and offroad. probs why it hasn't got much ground clearance for taking it on the rough stuff

  10. hi all , after buying a xt125r and being a bit disapointed with the general performance , ok so 125s are low on power but this felt strangled to death !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so when up at sheffield motorcycle centre i saw a full arrow exhaust system for £220.00 i thaught why not , had it fitted so as not to effect waranty , bike was better but only marginally , anyway after talking to steve the service manager it was decided to renew carb under waranty as it was very hard to start from new and tickover was very irratic and it was definatly a bad carb , it was also dyno tested and rejeted from 105 to 110 jet, well what a difference , revs to the moon and now goes very very well , ok its still only a 125 but i now have all the power in the little engine and it gets to 65 mph very quickly [for a 125] hope this could help anyone else with this type of machine .ps it sounds great to !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sounds great :D whats the top speed? im thinking of putting a mikuni carb on but in not sure if its 28mm i need. i have a micron 500 exhaust fitted to my 390c thunderkart and thinking about putting it on my xt as it gave ma kart a tad more top-end speed but nothing special and I'm kinda desperate to get a lil more power out of my xt cause trying to overtake anything at over 60 can be a bitch with a headwind :D when i first got it i got 69mph on a straight but now i cant get close to that only 67mph however downhill iv got 72 once put thats revving the balls of it. also when it says overboost is that good? :S

  11. Because its a 4 stroke 125, there isnt much in the way of 'deristricting' to get more power out of it you will have to change the exhaust, jet the carb, polish the ports, look for a higher lift cam, look at ignition. Remember that its a 4 stroke and cant be deristricted like 2 strokes!!

surely you could buy a mikuni carb they gave ma kart waayy more power but u will need a new air filter also you could buy a bigger exhaust will make it sound a bit more healthier an throatier :P well that is on ma 390cc kart but i might give it a try on ma xt when i get some more money :P

  12. I don't understand the logic, spend a couple of grand on a new bike then before the clock has made 3 figures look for ways to make it faster.

I don't see why people dont seek out tidy TZR's, Mito's even RG's. A flick through CMM and such shows up enough of em usually even restored they are well under a grand, and you can REALLY make them shift with nothing more than a pipe and some jetting.

The late 80's bikes are even free of all the stupid E marked exhausts rubbish and restrictive noise requirements. And you can get the old DT's and TZR's up to 230cc thats like 40 odd hp.

    Am i just getting old.........

i brought a brand new motorhispania 50cc furia for 2k and tbh its great and im selling it soon and the person that want's to buy it from me does't mind paying 1.5 - 1.6 k for it and i think i have came out of that good.. but i id buy just a yamaha xt125 57reg for 1200 pounds and the owner had it from new and he lost alot!! lmaooo so i think im just lucky :P

  13. Neiter of the XT's have fuel gauges (2005-2007 models) not sure about the 2008 though.

They just have a little orange light next to the speedo that blinks whenever the tank gets to 2 litres, or if you ride above 60mph for more than 30 seconds, haha. I found the best way to tell how much fuel you have left is to reset your milometer when you fill up and count the miles before you run out.

duuddeee!!! mine does!! its on the trip switch... however my 57reg doesnt have a reserve tap :(
