  1. Hey wonder if anyone has any info? Here in the good old RSA models arrive or news on models arrives long after it happens in Europe. Some six months ago the 660 Tenere arrived here and has made huge waves as one far as up riding goes.I've heard rumours of further 800 and 1200cc models coming this year. Are these models known anywhere else?Touring on and offroad here is pure bliss and if rumours are true-the Beemer, etc crowd will cry like hell.

Not sure where I found it but I googled the new XT1200 yesterday and found all the countries that have them. There is tons of info on the bike including many youtube videos.

    The bike is AWESOME!

  2. Can anybody tell me where I can get replacement mufflers for a Yamaha TX750, genuine(doubtful)or replicas??

    Kentg

I saw 1 (that's one) sell on ebay about six months ago for $800.00 Plus the winner had to pay the postage to send it to the UK. from the US. too! MikesXS has some repros for the old XS1,XS2,TX650's that he sells. Good Luck.

  3. Does any one know if the gas tanks are interchangeable on the 1972-73 DT 250 and the 1972-73 RT 360? I have a really nice '73 DT 250 (green), all orginal with a factory buddy seat. The only problem is the big knee print (about the size of a grapefruit) in the gas tank (right side).

The tank is the same for the 73-74 250/360's. The 75-76 250/400 will also fit but have a locking screw on cap. Also the MX250,360,& 400 tanks fit but these have a vented plastic screw on cap and a different fuel tap with no reserve. ( both still available from Yamaha pretty cheap )

  4. Anybody know how to go about getting a new bike imported here to the US.?

I would love to get my hands on the new XT1200 Super Tenere but they are not offered here or in Canada.

What a incredible bike and loaded with technilogical advances too!

Maybe you know somebody at Yamaha Motor Corp. that can help. I also have a friend that desires one as well. You will too I am sure.

If you are unaware of this bike google it. There also are post on youtube of the bike including ads from Yamaha.

It seems like we always get cheated on the good stuff here.

  6. Yes, the european version. Not sure how many countries got the low fender version.

I have seen the Canadian JT2 with the signals but it had the high fender. The low fender bikes were 1st yr. Canada & European bikes (FT1 in Europe) I believe that the lighting kit was a option only in '71(the 1st Yamaha accessory lighting kit) but not signals. Of course one could have odered the signals and speedo bits from the parts department once the '72 JT2 or FT2 bikes were released for sale.

I would love to see your bikes. You should post pictures at BikePics.com

  7. I found this old Yamaha mini dirt bike thing in town and picked it up for a few dollars because I thought it was neat. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Its 2 stroke and doesn't run yet but it shouldn't take much.

Your bike is a 1982 PW50J. It was the 2nd year for the then called YZinger bike.

Anyting that you need is still available from your dealer as these bike were practicaly unchanged through out production. There also is a site called PWonly.com that has parts as well.
