  1. Scum are drawn to 125's like flies to sh*t. I had my 125 stolen once and someone decided to kick it over once smashing the fairing and breaking off a wing mirror.

    It's very annoying. You'll probably get a call in a few days from the police saying they've picked it up with lockset smashed out of it and all the fairing smashed.

    My personal advice is let the insurance write it off, I paid £570 to get mine back on the road and after a month I had to replace the cam-link, then the chain and sproket set and then the engine started screwing up. The scum will red-line just short of the engine exploding.

    In future get an alarm, even a cheap disc-lock alarm, it'll give you good warning if someone tampers with your bike.

    It's such a bugger, when mine was knicked I had to also pay £120 for the impoundment fees too! An absolute joke! Further insult to injury I had get it out of the impound lot as quick as possible because each day that it was there I would incur a fee of £12!!! I had a smashed up bike with no lockset and battery pulled out and I had to wheel it out as quickly as possible and I was absolutely miles away from where I lived. It's outrageous, totally outrageous, also you don't get a choice, if the police find it they automatically source it out to a third party. It's like getting robbed twice. I had to eat beans on toast for nearly two months to pay for it all, absolutely gutted, my insurance excess was £500 too.

    It's probably for the better if you never see your bike again. Hate to sound like a moaner, but grrrrrr 'n' such! I got an almax security chain now but you can still cut through it with power tools like an angle grinder.

    Anyone who nicks a bike deserves to come off it and break their neck.

    XT 125's are a real magnet for these dirty rotten scum. They are targeted by young thieves looking to take something across the fields.

    Well no further news in regards to the police and the bike. But im sniffing close to the group of people who took it. I hopefully see someone ride past 1 day and im gna either clothesline em or kick em off. Apparently they have been keeping it up the woods, totally took all my light fittings off it and pretty much just took all the un-needed stuff off. I WILL FIND IT/THEM 1 DAY!!!! The last thing i want is for the CUNTY police to re-cover it.

    Bike is valued at £1350 so probably going to get £1000 for it. HOW MUCH OF A PISSTAKE IS THAT!?

    Well moving on, i have just purchased a new bike. 2 STROKE POWERRR!! Must say, i have become a slight traitor to this forum though, i have gone for an Aprilia Mx 125 06 plate.Cost me £1600, very nice motor, good nick, 6000 miles, and FUCK ME does it go. I got 95mph outta it on flat and 105mph down hill!!! I thought it was a joke people telling me how fast aprilias were. Compared to the Xt which was 65 flat out, its a big step up. Think im gna have to wear a nappy when i go riding from now on!!!

    im over the loss of the bike now, but if i see someone on it. GOD HELP THEM >.<

  2. Some little shit has made off with my pride and joy.

    Was parked in my girlfriends front garden overnight, chain on back wheel and down a steep embankment of grass to her front door. Its a bit of an effort to get out so thought no one would have the time to. I was so wrong.

    If anybody sees or hears of anything, please let me know.

  3. i did'nt go through with the exchange after all. im keeping hold of my Xt for a while me thinks. Looking for an Mx or DT again.

    Im preferably looking for a low mileage insurance write off to work on over the coming summer months =]

  4. lmao i had a similar experience like that a few weeks back.

    Fitted an alarm/immobiliser, and was overtaking a car. I just pulled infront of them and like that my bike died.

    Needless to say i got an angry guy in car behind me and hand gestures pointed, but i was in stitches.

    Taken the alarm out now, more harm then its worth.

    I love my ground anchor :blush:

  5. Well no responses so i thought i'd update and let you know how it went.

    Old exhasut (05 plate) had obviously never been taken off before, so had to drill the main bolt out and give it a slight wiggle. Bolts at other end of pipe needed some convincing too.

    Once all was off the arrow was SO easy to fit! I didnt need to take any components off the bike to fit it, (only to take old 1 off) literally just popped right in.

    Now for performance.

    After messing with the air mixing, (think i did 2 and 1/2 turns on air mixture screw) it moved and sounded like a beast.

    It performs best when its at about 8500 revs and boy oh boy does it pack a punch compared to before. The overall top speed i gained was only 8-10 mph, buttt, the time it takes for me to get there was dramatically descreased.

    Now what im going to do.

    Change front sprocket to a 15 tooth instead of 14, and maybe go down a few on the back.

    Up-jet. Factory carb is a 105 Main Jet and the pilot is 15. Im putting a 110 main (maybe even 112.5 if i can be cheeky enough) and a 17.5 pilot.

    Im thinking about drilling out the cover for the fuel screw and tuning that aswell.

    I so DEPSERATLEY need a CDI full power unit for my bike. I have searched everywhere and they either dont exist or are impossible to find.

    If anyone can help me on this i would be SO appreciative.

    I now have my Yamaha Dt X 06 frame, which i bought after an 800 mile write off, and its going to be my work in progress over the next year i believe.

    Am also considering buying an Aprilia Mx 125 (not yamaha BOOOOO), just because they are too sexy, and raced one last week against my friends DT and absolutley smashed it. I kid you not i got 96 mph on the speedo!!! I almost let out a poo and was like WOW :blink: .

    Any comments, experiences, info or just general chat would be much appreciated.

    How much more top speed would i gain?

    Do i need to re-jet?

    Better acceleration?

  8. hello there i have just purchased a 1982 yamaha xt 125 and was just wondering what to look out for and the pros and cons. also i should imagine its pretty rare as yamaha did nt build many four strokes.

    Wow that is a rare little one. How much u pick it up for??

    Proabably do aload more mods on it than my, elctronically run piece of shit.

    Bring on the old bikes i say!

    Is this good or should i look for a bargain??

    Its in a really nice condition, and im hopefully getting £1000 for the XT (i hope)

Has anyone used this bag of sh*t and got it too work with windows7, if you are buying a new computer avoid it like the plague, i have now installed it 4 times on my new laptop and every time it updates it stops working and you cannot open the pogram again to sort it out, now going back too free AVG and zone alarm and gonna take it back too Pc world and tell em where they can stuff it

    Aloo, have you checked your administrator settings??? Theres extra added security on Vista and Win 7. Not totally sure how to explain to u, but should be in Control Panel settings or Computer.

    Im a software technician, and believe me, I know how much of a bastard Win 7 is.

  11. Updating again. I've been looking round and managed to get myself a part exchange with a 54 plate DT x. It looks beautiful and already has a DEP exhaust fitted.

    I didnt actually realise how small the Xt was until riding it fo about a week or 2. Being a 6'2ft, 14 and half stone guy, this really is'nt the best bike. Would recommend anyone of my height and weight to avoid Xts.

    Also, my Xt will not hit over 57 on a flat.

    I WANT MY DT :(

  12. Sounds like you dont know your clutch from your throttle, if thats the case what were you doing stripping the carb down.

    Thanks for stating the obvious old git, was a typo. Have sorted this prob out, there was something that got wedged in my air filter. All good now.

    But can anyone let me know where i can get my hands on a performance CDI for the bike. I have been looking everywhere, but to no avail.

    I have the same engine as a TTR 125 but don't think this will make any difference. It has a 6 pin small head adapter, roughly an inch wide.

    Anybody who has any info please let me know, will be forever grateful.

    Am getting my flywheel sent off next week to get lightened. Hopefully will be on the back wheel no problem after that!!

  13. I've been having quite a few probs with my bike recently. I really dont know whats up.

    I just cleaned out the carb and jets, but now when i start it up it will idle for a bit then when i try and use the clutch it will try to rev more power but just chudder if u get what i mean and then cut out.

    Does it do this if my engine doesnt have enough oil??? Because i know this is something i need to do today, but whether this is the sole reason for it not working properly. i do not know

    PLEASE HELP ME!! I GET PAYED FROM WORK IN 3 WEEKS AND HAVE NO WAY OF SERVICING BIKE! =[
