  1. Mine runs rough at low revs but fine at motarway speed and wide open I surpose this is not down to cab icing otherwise it would be the same at all revs.

strange it happens only when its warmed up?????????

  2. maybe thats a stupid topic to start on a bike forum, but I hate driving cars! No just getting stuck in traffic, but the actual process of driving those big metal boxes around town feels like trying to manoeuvre a very big thing down a very small passage (insert smutty remark here lol). In contrast when I'm on my bike I feel safe, i have a great field of vision, I'm able to anticipate other road users, can nip through the gaps that cars get stuck in and i love every single mile. When I jump back in the car I'm nervous and to be honest feel completely useless behind the wheel! Its probably a case of inexperience, I passed my test years ago but haven't driven regularly since, but then again, I loved the bike from day one.

Anyone else the same? In fact it would be interesting to know how many people use their bike as their only form of transport...

My cars sit outside of the house ,all year round I ride to work and back come rain or shine I hate driving the car and getting stuck in traffic i'll take two wheels any day

  3. Sorry if you have read this in workshops.

My cat was fine with the exception of the choke not functioning.

I left it a couple of days and I had trouble starting it I opened the choke and the choke seemed to work for a while great I thought,

but ever since it misses in low revs, motorway and excelleration is fine.

If I am riding under 40 it hessitates. any ideas

  4. Hi

My cat is the same as yours regarding the gear box. I have adjusted allsorts and it sometimes is a bit slack other times it's ok. Gotta love the cat. Have you checked your choke cable isn't stretched.

    ADE

    Thats good to know.

great engine leans a bit to forward for me, Im trying to get used to it, big difference to my Fatboy and K75rt.

  5. The whine could be a sign 3rd gear is getting tired-dont nail it too hard in this gear. thundercats dont have the best reputation for lower gear strength.

Your choke is probably normal; you have to find the best position between full on and off. Mine is like this. Check that your tickover is 12-1300.

tick over is a a bit slow the bike returns 60 mpg if not thrashed so there can not be much wrong.

one other thing is there is a lot of slack take up through the gears any suggestions

    thanks

    steve

  6. just bought a cat with 45k the gears have a whine in 3rd is this norm and for some reason the choke is not working properly, I can put it full on and the engine cuts out part on and it does nothing.

Its anoying that I have to rev it till it can tick over on its own is there an obvious reason for this.

  7. Ive just bought a thundercat and being and old bastered I am having difficulty seeing the small numbers on the speedo.

is there such a thing as a film that goes on the speedo lense to magnify them.

  8. Would like to know if anyone has fitted ba risers to their cat and do they make any real worthwhile difference.

I been looking on E bay for ages and they dont seem to come up, is this an indication that no one uses them.

They only lift the bars 18mm which is a very small amount
