  1. Na your wrong mate they are illegal during the day. The reason for this is the DSA consider it a permanent fixture. You can wear sun glasses underneath and is completely legal as its not considered permanent and can simply be taken off when the light reduces. Police have far too much work to do (like eat doughnuts) rather than pull you for this offence so its unlikely you will get pulled over. i think the previous guy was correct in saying carry a clear spare with you.

What is legal is the tinted strips you can buy for your visor as they can be removed and chucked away.

    Hope this helps

  2. Best thing to do is treat all car drivers as idiots. I know this is harsh but helps prevent accidents.

My advise is not to look in the drivers eyes as it distracts you from looking most importantly ahead of you! Try to position yourself towards the centre of the road to allow maximum room incase the car was to edge out.

  3. What's the Law on Dark Visors? I'm thinking of getting one as Summer is here and the Sun is blasting down but will I get pulled over by the Police?

They are illegal and shouldnt be worn but if you do were one then i would be surprised if you got pulled over for this alone.

But remember this, if you do wear one then you are giving the police a reason to pull you over and most likely they will check over everything on your bike and your details! so if your bike is not 100% legal then dont give the police an opportunity.

Well thats my advise for what its worth

  4. Thinking bout getting one for my R6 but not sure whether to get an end can or full system. Does the full system really make that big a difference?? And what is involved?

  5. im surprised it never blew the car cause mr2s dont like much more than about 300 bhp lol

True but i had the rather expensive rebuild ect. rebored / forged pistons/billet steel crank / polished conrods / blitz 850cc injectors / ported / 4 paddle clutch / larger intercooler / apexi ecu/boost controller/ blitz air filter/ exhaust. O did i mention the stage 3 turbo T26b(2 bar) that helped. Might have a pic if your interested. total cost £25k

To cut a long story short...Too much hassle not enough enjoyment not to mention the drain on my resources. Now i stick to bikes. More power to weight than a car could ever get and i get bigger buzzes. Although i did enjoy whipping porche 911turbo's (just seeing the owners face thinking this cant be happening to me with my 60k car!)

im surprised it never blew the car cause mr2s dont like much more than about 300 bhp lol

Mine was obviosly a jap import. rev 3 1996, twin entry turbo. I had to swap my turbo for the old rev 2 one as the ceramic plates in the rev 3 were prone to breaking plus i think the old ones were bigger ct26-ct22b

im surprised it never blew the car cause mr2s dont like much more than about 300 bhp lol

Your correct mate you cant tune a stock mr2 above 300bhp due to the turbo and intercooler limitations not to mention the long bore stroke. Although iv heard some people tuning the older rev1-2 up to 330bhp due to the larger turbos on those but i dont believe a lot of that shit, I believe it when i see the dyno graph readings!

  6. I bet that beast sounds sweet @ 17.5k though

    Geez...I sure miss riding a short-stroke, 6-speed screamer :(

I think I hear my RD calling me from the Garage. ;)

It dont rev to 17.5rpm, i think that was just a sales pitch. I got a letter from yamaha uk 2 weeks after i bought it saying it has been misquoted in various magazines, and that it will only rev to 16.5rpm. 133bhp at 15.5rpm. Still a fantastic piece of kit!

P.S I havnt had it maxed yet due to the boring 100k miles running in period :(

  7. I've just had a phone call from an insurance company offering me TPF&T insurance for £350... surely that's an insane price for a 24 year old with 4 points and on a first bike (1999 R6)!?!?!? That also covers me to drive other bikes third party. I'll get the details of the company tomorrow and keep you informed

My insurance cost me £750 with motorcycle direct!! Im 25 with no points, sounds a good price to me. Also had a quote on a VFR400 for £350

  8. Sorry mate i cant help you. Sounds like there is some srios problems going on there.

Have you compared your new gasgets with the old?? its somehow is leaking into the cylinder plus have you fitted anything like this before??

My advise is get a pro to sort it out. i dont mess with things like that (well not since my MR2 tried tuning it to 400bhp and blew the gearbox)

  9. Should get some photos on here Scott. May help ease my jealousy a little but probably not. :D

Ill try and get a couple on here. its the blue one. thought id be different.

Nothing to be jealous about, it does feel different to just about every bike iv rid. Its so skinny and compact, not for everyone but if your looking for a very sharp nimble responsive bike im not sure theres many much better.

Closest in my opinion to what a GP bike may feel (but with 100bhp down!)

how very lucky you are!! :P

welcome to the forum i look forward to hearing about your time on the new r6 have heard a mixed response about it really.

i think the person with the newest r6 is probably dark 46 he has the r46 and a normal r6. might be good to talk to him! :)

Is'nt the R46 the Rossi night and day paint jobby?? Not sure id bother getting one if i already owned an R6 already. Lovely colour scheme though.

my mate works for yamaha dealer and he said the new

r6 is fucking mad and its a match for the r1 on the twistys..

The R6 is supposed to be quicker than the R1 0-60, but i think the R1 is a bit long in the tooth now. I cant wait for yamaha to bring out the new R1 YCCT and slipper clutch (hopefully similar to the 2006 R6).

  10. LOL, I havnt seen that many on the road?? Was looking for a second hand old model of R6 but when this came out I just had to have it. I feel like im riding a little over the front of the bike but boy does it steer well
