    have you checked gearbox oil level is correct? also could be bottom end bearings or main crank bearings ;-)

    gearbox oil is fine and okay thanks :) was given some advice by a garage that the gudgeon pin might make that noise so my dads going to change that and then we'll go from there if it still makes the same noise,

    hi, ive got a dt 125 and ive got a ratterling noise when the bike is ticking over, first of all we thought it was the top end bearing so we had that changed but its still making the same noise, does anyone have any ideas on what this could be.

    Hi ive just bought a completely customed aerox and ive fitted a new belt, fuel tap, spark plug rollers, but it still struggles to get pat 45mph any suggestions guys plz im gettin desperate

    proberly has a restrictor,

    ok cheers, do you know what size the original main jet is and what size i will need to increase to??

    only way you'll find out is if you take the jet out,

    on my old moped i got a new exhaust for it and had to put a size 86 jet in but might be different for yours,

    if u can take the jet out and go to a motorbike shop and ask them what jet you would need and explain to them what the bike has got done to it then they should tell you the correct size :) thats wat i did with my old moped

    Hi there all,

    Would like to hear some opinions from some people who have been around bikes for a while... this is my first post here so let me introduce my self, my name Aaron from malta soon to be 22.

    I recently fell in love with a cool looking Yamaha virago vx125s to be exact, a friend of mine has one and is thinking of selling it for approx 1800 euros, this is a 1999 model with roughly 350000km on it. I'm considering to buying this bike but need to know if it's worth buying it, maintenance wise. Do you think the virago is a reliable bike? Is it ideal for a first time buyer like myself? Are parts easy to find?

    It would help if i got some personal opinions on this bike, since right now I'm on a tight budget and really can't afford to buy a high maintenance bike.

    Really like this bike and all your opinions would be greatly appreciated :rolleyes:

    hey guys,

    Does anybody have any personal experience with Marushin helmets? I know the Tiger and Samurai models have 5* SHARP ratings but haven't found any reviews online, so was wondering if they're any good.

    i had a marushin, i thought they were quite comfy but i reckon agv are even better they cost a bit more but its worth it, i got agv k3 gotic and thats really comfortble

    how many miles has it done and has it been service, have other parts changed recently and are there any modifications installed??

    its done about 9000 and its got boyeson power reeds and just a big one end can, i took it to the garage and they said i shouldnt worry too much because 2 strokes will tend to go like that after a while but its easy to fix could be the top end or bottom end bearings something like that

    could be the gearbox, could be the main bearings, could be a lot of things...

    where abouts on the engine is the rattle coming from?

    well as far as i know its right at the front , and the bike has had a engine oil change about 2 weeks ago but that shudnt be the problem should it ?

    hi ive got a yamaha dt,

    ive had this bike awhile now but just recently about 2 days ago ive started to hear a rattling noise when its ticking over, could anyone give me any idea on what it could be thanks :)

    One thing you have to remember when riding; all the rest are idiots

    aslong as you arent hurt that is the main thing, the bike can be repaired or replaced, you cant.

    got any pics of the crash damage? it takes a lot to kill a DT :lol:

    yeah my mum always says that all the other drivers are idiots( especialy when they havent riden a bike before because they dont think about looking for them )

    and i no im suprised how little damage really,

    the only annoying part is the handlebars a bit bent but its not too bad really,

    i was shocked because the bike slid along the road and it wasnt as much damage as i thought it would of been and i havent taken any pics because im not sure why lol but its not too bad so its kind of okay :)

    had a crash last night on my dt 125 :( the worst site il ever see is my bike laying on the floor :( , i didnt care about my injuries i just care that my bike is okay rather me than my bike lol stupid taxi drivers (no offence to any1 if they are a taxi driver on here ) lol

    It will fit straight on as a replacement for you big one but theres no point doing it as it wont feel any different unless you change the front header pipe aswell.

    has anybody else had this problem? i currently have an 05 plate dt125r and i have a nice set of brand new thor quadrants but i really cant change up gear as i cant bend it enough to flick it up! could it be that they need flexing in or something? i used to have a 02 plate dt125 and i had no problems changing with them! has anybody had this problem or can the gear selector be changed in anyway? any help welcome'd

    i've got the same problem, bought a brand new pair of boots but cudnt change gear because i cudnt feel the gear lever lol

    but ive got my uncles old boots which are quite old and worn in alot and i can change gear in them fine but i also got a pair of motocycles shoes and there just as good as worn in boots, the more u wear them the more they are going to wear in but that could take a while

    Hi Leigh,

    if the bike has not been serviced it may require one .... 2 stroke motors tend to build up carbon within the exhaust system which tends to restrict them, can you 'red line' the bike in the gears above third ? If not this would indicate a carbon build up. The speedo error you have is quite great and it may be worth checking this out also (assuming the old man's car's clock is correct !

    no i cant red line it above 3rd gear , maybe best to get it serviced because first thing in the morning it smokes so much untill its warmed up properly

    ive got some sm wheels on my dt there pirelli mt 21 rallycross but im not sure wer they came from sorry lol but id recomend them tyres :)

    Nice example there Jon, looks a tidy bike for its age, obviously been looked after. :thumb:

    hi, ur bike looks just like mine and mines 2002 but :) mines got different exhaust and handguards but apart from it looks just like mine lol but nice bike :)
