  4. Guy and gals , need advice from the gang have seen a 2001 dragstar 1100 im interested in buying, it has all the gear on it and looks very tidy. only covered 3,400 miles which is big time low. there is no mention of service history and it is a private seller. what service intervals should it have and at worst what are these bikes known to play up on? your help and guidance would bez appreciated.

  5. i had very similar in 1980 coming back from cheddar ,p ing it down ,no visibility then the rectifier jacked on my mates rd 250 he had no lights then, so had to ride slightly to the side but to the rear so he could see where he was going and to protect the rear, wet and cold but he ho thats life on two wheels people ,, have a good day guys

  6. Had a bumblebee land inside my helmet while doing 70mph once  .....the bugger snuck in through the visor just being barely cracked open......buzzing around in my helmet, obviously was Madness....

I was immedietly down through the gearbox & had my Seca parked in NO time! :D .....through the helmet off & surprisingly was NOT stung!

Just a bit of luck I reckon. ;)

similar thing bee in helmet,me pannicking, then relief when it dropped out , mile down the road bugger got me on upper thigh. kevlar jeans from now on. :tantrum:

  7. I did have a bee sting me in the neck once and had to ride home very slow with the sac still hanging out, when I got home I had to pull it out with tweezers so as to not let the poison into my throat. Ever since I always were a "boob tube"

shouldnt ride with your sack hangin out.

  8. I wouldn't put this in the catagory of stupid, more scary. When coming back from Clevedon (Somerset) to Chippenham (Wiltshire) after watching football, on the M5 whilst crossing the Avonmouth bridge my son fell asleep on the back of the bike, in hindsite I should have slowly pulled into the hard shoulder, but what did I do? I shouted out his name to wake him up. As luck had it he didn't fall off the back and we got home safely, but years later I still have nightmares.

not quite with you on that one. why wouldnt you let him sleep on the back ? i do it all the time ON THE FRONT. costs a lot in bikes though. :D

  10. send some pics of your own fancy bits ,might give us ideas as to what can be done without spending our (sorry, the governments) money

just thought ,to clarify ,i meant pictures of your fancy bits on yer bike!! glad ive cleared that up .

  11. Ordering anything from the US direct means you get high import tax duties to pay.

Some places will mark it as one of the tax-except categories if you ask nicely.

It really is a case of shopping around.

Ebay and all that lot, too.

I don't really customise anything about my bike. I just add on my own fancy bits instead.

  12. Thanks gassed have done that wondered if there were any preferred dealers thats all cheers anyway

most the suppliers are from accross the pond, its pot luck im affraid, and catching the exchange rate at a favourable time . good luck but in my personal mind stick to coloured panels and put money into fuel and cruising.
