  2. Hi i am looking for a job within the motorcycle industry and have been buying/repairing and selling motorbikes as a hobby for the last 15 years and would like to turn this into a full time career move if possible, anything considered within a 15-20 mile radius of J29 of the M1 motorway. Many thanks.

  4. Hi,

Took a tumble on my Thundercat YZF600 last weekend :( . I got a few cuts and bruises, and was dizzy for a couple of days, but otherwise ok. Can't say the same about the bike, pretty smashed down the left side, left handlebar snapped off, left and top fairing and rear panel broken, mirror broken off, left footpeg snapped, not to mention my injured pride. I accidentally spun the bike in Stratford, the roads were very slipery (I was actually trying to go in a straight line at the time), lost control as it spun, hit the curb and down like a ton of bricks. All I remember as my head hit the ground was my visor popping off and bouncing down the road...

If anyone knows anyone breaking a Thundercat in the the Birmingham area, I could do with a few bits...

Your really lucky splinter bud. I came of my Suzuki TL 1000R at Hampshire and snapped my wrist. Had to have it plated and pinned with titanium nuts and bolts. The damage to the bike was just over £4000 needless to say the insurance accessor wrote the bike off. The best joke of it all was I was only doing 40mph....

Just goes to show you that you do not need to be flying to write a bike off and yourself too......

  5. As a trucker stops for a red light, a blonde in her car pulls up alongside.

She jumps out of her car, runs up to his truck, and knocks on the door.

The trucker lowers the window, and she says

"Hi, my name is Sharon and you are losing some of your load."

The trucker ignores her and proceeds down the street.

When the truck stops for another red light, the girl again catches up.

She jumps out of her car, runs up and knocks on the door.

Again, the trucker lowers the window.

As if they've never spoken, the blonde says brightly,

"Hi, my name is Sharon, and you are losing some of your load!"

Shaking his head, the trucker ignores her again and continues down the street.

At the third red light, the same thing happens again.

All out of breath, the blonde gets out of her car, runs up, knocks on the

truck door. The trucker lowers the window.

Again she says "Hi, my name is Sharon and you are losing some of your load!"

When the light turns green, the trucker revs up and races to the next light.

When he stops this time, he hurriedly gets out of the truck, and runs back

    to the blonde.

He knocks on her window, and as she lowers it, he says

"Hi, my name is Kevin and I'm driving a f**king gritter

Really funny bud keep them coming......

  8. Hi chaps & chapesses, happy new year to you all.

This photo is of my arai astro j lid. I recently took a tumble from my bike during which the lid took a glancing blow on the road. As you can see, just above the visor-hinge(?) there is a 1p coin-sized chip off the paintwork but NO other damage whatsoever.

Should I be thinking about replacing it? The scrape seems too superficial to warrant the expense of a new lid.

I thought that until next year, maybe, i could touch it up with some light filler silver touch-up paint or even filler and a sticker any suggestions gratefully received.

    normal_helmet.jpg

I enquired at a bike shop but all thay wanted to do was flog me a new one with bullshit like 'well they don't always show the damge sustained blah blah blah of course you should buy a new helmet sir, step this way.......' know what I mean ;)

How you doing bud. Can I tell you that I bought an Arai lid brand new, had it three weeks and binned my bike. The bike was a write off but the lid had no damage well virtually no damage and I thought to myself well I can still use it for a while after all it cost me £400 and I have only had it for three weeks...

Little did I realise how stupid I was being. I was advised to scrap the lid. Apparently after you have dropped a lid on the ground or had an accident with the lid you are meant to destroy it, Replace it straight away would be my advice as it will not give you the full protection it once did...

Thats what I learnt even if there does not look much wrong with it, damage it a lot and then skip it. Go buy a new one bud...

  9. Here's where I went today.....Cartagena! B)

Bit cloudy today in Downtown Namby-Pambysville....so Big Bird stayed in...and the Baby Yam came out!

I cruised down the harbour road causing XTreme vaginal moisture from the local ladies! B)

Got back on the XT, continued up the road....and I thought WTF is that! :o

    ca8.jpg

As I'm not one to miss a photo opportunity I rode the XT through the pedestrian area to get to it!

Apparently it's the Peral Submarine, built in Cadiz in 1884, launched in 1888, and the world's first military submarine!

  10. Well said Andy I suggest you clear off and stop using the irish name, It is an insult to thwe good people of ireland you foul mouthed tw*t

    Merv

Hi all. My name is John and I am from N.Ireland and a new comer to this site. I have read what merv wrote and Andyrose and I have to say thank you bud. I do not like the piss taken out of the Irish people and would ask that person and he knows who he is not to do so...

I Thought I had found a real home when I came onto this forum and thought to myself here are people like yourself John like minded about bikes and crazy mad about them...

I have read through all the boxes and the stuff about that person who calls himself Irish and that is an insult to me but I have to say I am not pleased that the forum have people like that on here...

I thought that this was a site/forum for talking about our passion BIKES and all having a laugh and getting on with one another. If you have nothing sensible to say then just keep your mouth shut. If you have something that will be of interest then lets all hear it but if not then I ask you nicely please say nothing and keep it to yourself ok.....

    :(

For me it has always been a bit of a mixture I'm afraid, Honda, Kwack, Suzuki and my last was a TL 1000 R so this time I have a XJR 1300 so I will be sticking with them. I cannot see me going elsewhere I am a faithful so and so I'm afraid...

  13. can any tell me best place for insurance for r1 thanks

I found that Carole Nash was the best out of them all. What a great price and a fantastic deal they put together for me...

I found that there after sales service was a real bonus too which is always good when you consider things. There is nothing better than being totally satisfied and you will get that with Carole Nash promise...

You have nothing to loose give them a ring and see what they can do for you bud. You will not be disappointed...

    Happy hunting...

    :blink::rolleyes::P

welcome :D where in scotland are you big john?

    Hi Liquidcooled...

Bit of a long story but let me put you in the picture. My wife is Scottish she is a low lander from Dundee now we cant hold that against her... Tee Hee...

I'm from N.Ireland, Ulster, now as I am a faithful Rangers supporter and my wife is Scottish I picked the Scottish flag. I also have a lot of Scottish roots so the Saltaire means a lot to me. We are now living down in the south coast of England and have been for the last six years...

Would of picked my home flag but they did not have it in the set up. You will have to tell me what part of S.W. Scotland you are from I am always interested in things like that. Have a good one bud. Tell me a bit more about yourself I always like to learn people. So now the ball is in your court but don't bore me too quickley...

    :):D:P:lol::rolleyes:B)

  15.

    Hi All Big John here.

On for the first time as I am a new member. I used to ride bikes a lot of years ago and recently got back into them I just could not leave them alone. I guess it has something to do with all that power between your legs :D and the wind in your hair or something like that ;)

Use to have a Suzuki TL 1000R on a 52 plate what a bike a V-Twin with a lot of grunt but now I am bikeless. I am in a deal with a friend of mine at the minute and am buying his bike of him which he is selling next month or so. I will then be the proud owner of an XJR 1300... :D:rolleyes::)

Cant wait I tell ya. Anyway thats enough for now from me I dont want to bore you all to quick... B)
