  1. Has anyone else been getting problems accessing the site or with a strange pornographic PM?

Despite there being about a hundred separate posts on the matter, I am not sure what's happening and I can't be bothered to read the board, so I thought I'd waste some bandwidth and ask the same question again.....

    :huh::rolleyes::unsure::wacko::blink::angry2::1poke::tearhair::cussing:

    FFS!!!!!!!!!!

I just deleted a message from the very same tosser, too.

He/she should get a life and do something constructive and useful that defines their reason for existing.

  2. Machine...... Gun..... Fellatio......

You mean, they actually have the word Motherf**ker in their song?

    For real?

    Seriously?

Wow, they must be pretty tough for 12-year-olds.......

They sound even tougher than Donnie Wahlberg singing Hangin' Tough!!!!

I wonder if they've even heard of Andrew Eldritch or Tom Waits.

Yep ..... they do have 'mutha fucka' in the title ... follow the link to utube:

Love Tom Waits 'Real Gone' ...

  3. Have a look at the band "machine gun fellatio' and their song ... "i am a mother fucka on a motorcycle" ... great tune ... bizarre. to be found on utube.

just to make it simple ....

  5. more fun, the new relay wont trip. it was made for led lights.

I've tried the proper wires in right place.. I hear it click but lights wont come on.

my bulbs are not led's just regular bulbs that are smaller in size.

I went from bulbs that took 27w each to bulbs that take 8w each.

so thats 54w per channel to now 16w per channel.

i'm thinking of adding some resistance either to each bulbs or in between both.

    What you guys think ?

ok, then the relay you need is one that is not for led's but for normal indicators. we got ours from bike-bits-n-bobs on ebay ... who provides a genuine service. it does state on the information that the relay unit is for either led's (which is a much lower wattage and will not work) or for normal indicators ... and so you should ensure you got the one that is designed specifically for normal indicators and not leds

  6. Hi,

I changed my flasher lights recently and flashers wont blink anymore.

Most likely due to lower resistance of the new bulbs.

I picked up a new relay that fixes this prob.

from the sound of my current relay.. id say its under the gas tank and under the metal frame that holds the fork.

any ideas how to get there ?

    I removed the tank already.

Do I really need to remove the top motor mounts to get there.. seems like a ridiculous place to put a relay!

any thoughts or help.. let me know

    Cheers,

    Oliver

Reply is: had exactly the same on an XJ750 Seca, and discovered that it's the pinouts on the original relay being different to the universal type: our Yamaha relay had a three pin connector but with only two terminals connected: the middle one and only one at the side pins. If your replacement relay is the same as our was, when you look at the back of your relay you will notice that the one that isn't connected is the 'X' terminal: this in the power feed, and pretty important.

So, split the plug - it is designed to be openable - and removed the connectors inside. Attach on to each side connector, ignoiring the top one completely, and it wil work with the wires one way round - i think the polarity is important. Having tested it and found it working, refit the connectors into the plug (remembering left and right are transposed when looking at it face-on), and test it before closing the plug up, and slot the new relay into its new home.

    Have fun

My new 12v 23watt indicators now flash on and off quite happily.

    Hope this helps.

  7. X-Jayney, as the post's have been edited out, it's very difficult to have any sort of say now, and a level debate is impossible.

A lively debate is good, but the whole Hogg thing is a bit like the Jaffa, Cake of Biscuit debate.... :o too emotive!

Probably best to let sleeping dog carry on dreaming, don't you think??

Gas-up ... I hadn't realised just how sensitive folk really are about the whole issue ... the sensitivity surrounding it all is quite interesting in itself.

Yes, you could be right ... I edited it out ... it had 'had its moment'. It doesn't affect me as I exist in both 'camps' and not just one or the other.

Ending it here is good! B)

  8. Aw no, not another Harleys Rule, everything else is crap debate, is it?

Let me settle it - Harleys are shite for TWO main reasons - They cost a fucking bomb and their customer service staff are wankers.

1/. For the price of a reasonable Harley I could have three (count 'em) reasonable nick Jap Cruisers.

I'm sorry if owning a cheaper bike that does the same thing makes them think me me a lesser human being than a genuine Harley rider, but for the 69p it'd cost me to put a .45ACP round through their skull it's something I think they can forget.

2/. Harley customer services are shite. This remark from someone who actually works there. The claim is that she cannot do anything to resolve a customer's issue if the dealership won't cough up the cash to rectify it. Typically they won't, so the customer gets shafted. It's a cash cow and nothing more.

Taskmaster ... it was not a Harleys Rule debate. It was an 'intentionally put the cat amongst the pigeons and see what reaction I get' debate. It was a way of amusing myself as a distraction from a gruelling essay I should have been writing. I was having a bit of fun. I attempted to 'liven up' the forum momentarily ... and we can always rely on that type of debate to stir things up a bit.

And, from personal experience ... ALL bike dealers are out to make a profit: aren't they? I thought that was what businesses were in business for: 1. to provide a service to those who need it AND 2. to make a profit. In short: no profit = no point!

  9. Still dont make sense to me

I see: that was Drewpy being cheeky ... I had left a reply to one of your comments, and then realised I had other comments to add to that, and instead of going back to my first reply and adding it to that, I opened up another comment box ... and so, it looked as though I was commenting on one of my own quotes: which I wasn't!

    I am outta here!

  10. Oh dear...

was it me? in "He's home!"??

No, Cov-al ... it wasn't you! I only had a brief look at "He's home" and did not read your offering.

I enjoy a good debate. I purposefully "put the cat among the pidgeons", so to speak, to see what reactions it would elicit from people.

  11. are you answering your own posts? :D

Aren't you the funny one, Drewpy!

If you had followed the 'thread' you would realise it was an extension of my previous comment to Goff, although it does look like I am talking to myself!

Oh well, guess I have reached that age.

  12. """"""""Erm ... take a closer look and it may reveal what is lurking beneath the hidden depths!"""""""""

Nope lost me ???????????????? bit to deep for me ,, afraid I am just a simple Yam owner

Hey Steve ... quite incidentally, so am I! (just a simple Yam owner, that is).

  13. Sooooo where did all this stem from ????? don`t think I have ever seem a thread on here condeming Harleys, or for that matter, any other make of bike.

Or, where some mates taking the piss down the pub ???

""and continue to rely on anecdotal fiction relayed to them by their mates over a pint in the pub.""

Erm ... take a closer look and it may reveal what is lurking beneath the hidden depths!

  14. thanks for the info Amanda, wasn't something i had really considered.

think maybe being an S.E.R.V would be a better idea, still can't do it on the DT though.... maybe when the Jawa is on the road

Oh well ... good luck in whatever you choose.

  15. hi everyone...

are there any rules/terms a person needs to meet before they can become a motorcycle courier? (for a business or even privately)

sounds like an interesting job, i would quite like to give it a go...

anyone had any experiance being a courier?

needs something with a bigger payload than my DT50 though... maybe a jawa with a sidecar

    - Steve

    2.

  16. Its a good day honest.

    Hi Yammy,

Am gonna try and get down to it ... it is always an absolute mad run!

I have my thermals at the ready as a native of Stoke (well, Newcastle really) I know how cold it can be!

    Oatcakes at the ready, too.

  17. Technically Alsager IS still classed as Stoke on Trent is it not?? there's no getting away from us that easy...

There are plenty of meets to be honest in and around Stoke / Congleton...sometimes they are even in 'The Sentinel' and as far as "looking a tool" ...everyone has to start somewhere mate...dunna worry thee sen!

K2...thats where I puchased my lovely ride from... :D

With regards to the Alsager and Stoke postcode thing ... I do believe that Alsager used to have a Cheshire postcode (probably CW as it is close to Crewe). This was up to the point that a local lord from that area realised that his mail reached him quicker if it came through the Stoke postal channels than the Crewe postal channels and demanded that Alsager get a SOT postcode instead of Crewe ... and, so, that is one of the urban myths behind that, although I have heard it is true and not mythical. I choose to view it as a myth, and then i cannot be accused of being 'green'

  18. Yeah but some people don't see it as Stoke, even if we do have a Stoke postcode :D

If I have no problems with K2, I'll probably use those for my next bike in 12/18 months once I've passed my test. Can't wait to get rid of L plates, and I don't even have the bike yet!

Hmmm ... K2 the Yam dealer. I went there with my Yam xj750 to enquire as to whether I could get hold of a "YICS" tool to balance my carbs with (ok, it is a piece of about 9ml metal bar with special little thingies on it) as my bike is a YICS. The parts bloke told me that: a. my bike DID NOT need any special tool for balancing the carbs with and B: that i was mistaken and had been misinformed.

I did indeed need a specialist YICS tool for setting up the carbs.

that was two years ago, more recently, i contacted them with regards to getting some oil seals for the XJ, and they were nigh on useless with how they dealt with that query also, concluding that "as they did not know the year or model of my bike that they would have to order some pattern oil seals and hope that they would fit". Now, he could have said, "oh, I am sorry, we cannot help you because it is a grey import, try phoning Fowlers in Bristol, they know what they are talking about".

Fortunately, a friend told us to give Fowlers a ring.

So, i phoned Fowlers, and they put me onto Bat Motorcycles. And between the lovely Maria at Bat and Fowlers, we got it sorted out.

I will not be using K2 for anything in future.

    So, be careful ...

Yes ... there certainly is a clue in the name, but, I think there is a bit of ambiguity over calling a jaffa a cake. They are not to be found in the 'cake aisle', but, in the 'biscuit aisle' in all of the big supermarkets. So, are they guilty of this world confusion?

  20. Ooh dear X-Jay, you've only been here a week and already you've started the "Jaffa Cake: Buiscuit or cake debate"

    btw, it's a dunkable cake!

No, no, no! I have made NO MENTION of those very tasty round thingies ... and neither have i made any reference to the 'cake or biscuit' debate! It weren't me, guv'ner!

It was - ahem, am I treading dangerously here? - it was ... it was ... Goff!!! ;)

I never did learn when to keep me gob shut.

And thanks to everyone who called by to say 'hello', much appreciated!
