  1. I have the jardine gp1 slip on, on my 08 r6. sounds fecking great and attracts loads of attention! got it thru ebay for £85 inc p+p and surprisingly seems to have better mid-range now, well recommended.

  2. Picked up my beautiful white 08 R6 last friday, having ridden a heavily modded Ducati M900 for the last few years, i'm in love!!! Like riding a 250 2-stroke again, tho i'm having difficulty keeping to the 8300rpm running in rule. Especially having tasted the 8750ish boost from the YCCi. Its as addictive as crack (So i'm told!!)

I've already done the R&G tail tidy and flush indicator jobs, and plenty more mods to come.

But just have a couple of questions i hope someone can help with!

a- Where can i get a pair of pillion peg blank plates from?

b- Any tips on removing the cra99y big warning sticker on the tank? (So i can fit a tank pad) The clear film came off, leaving the white layer with the writing, which only comes off in microscopic bits!!

  3. Hi, I'm in the same situation, I'm looking at a new 08 R6 from George White for 7499 with all the extra kit. I don't need the leathers, boots or helmet so they will probably go on e-bay. But all the other kit will come in useful.

My question is around the Micron GP Can. I've been told that Micron have gone bust and that the cans were made for 06/07 R6's not the 08. Is this true and does it matter? Where can I see a picture of one as George White don't have any?

    Thanks,

Micron has gone bust and a lot of there business and contracts have gone to scorpion, the gear that george white usually give away are 2-3 seasons old. consists of mainly FT (frank thomas) clothing which have been discontinued and GW buy the gear off them by the container load, also the clothing was never rrp in the shops before let alone now. DONT BE FOOLED!!

  4. a couple of things mate...

i know u have ur heart probably set on the r6, and it is a great bike but restructed to 33bhp, means you would find an aprilia rs125 full poer faster, and defo better handling unless your 18 stone or 6'4

other than that ring premium choice, they stuck me with equity red star, i get my r6 insurance though them, im 24 2 years ncb, two 12 month bans :( 3 points, own a 56 r6, 04 april rs, and a k4 gsxr 600, all insured for 900, my policy basically goes off which would be the dearest which is the r6, so effectively 900 for that. i dont live in london which i imagine is expensive, but i do live in st helens, about 5 minute drive from liverpool, and we all know what thieving bastards they are in that kneck of the woods.

ps, only joking scousers, calm down calm down!

I agree, even though you're going to restrict the bike its not going to restrict the bike or change the risk analysis the insurance companies use, so you're going to pay through the nose for the insurance.

as for restricting the bike, with you're budget you're looking at something like an '03 model; restricting it to 33 bhp is going to knock of the power to weight ratio. I ride around london in a fairly large group and theres a restricted r6 and kwak 636 amongst us which always get left behind the kwak 250 and the derestricted rs 125.
