  1. Shoei X-eleven - for summer, and an AGV GT (flip-up) for winter...both are excellent but in different ways. But, I love my Shoei the best.

Key point: try before you buy; one size does not fit all heads; if a sales person pushes you to buy, walk away...keep trying until you've found the one that really fits 'snugly' and with no hot spots.

  2. A builder and his apprentice on a building site are argueing about how much you can carry in a wheelbarrow. The old guy starts to get fed up with it and says to the younger guy,

"Right a months wages! , i bet i can carry something across the site in the wheelbarrow that you can't"

The young wipper snapper jumps at the 'easy' money,

"you've got a bet old timer, i can lift far more for far longer than you ever can". :D

So they shake on the bet to make it official then the old guy looks at him with a thin smile, <_<

"go on then get in......"

I'm normally far too late with gags i seem to be the last person to hear them but this had me gigling all day so what the hell....... ;)

  3. Two of my mates have the mentiond bikes, one has the TDM other the Fazer unfaired. The TDM looks higher and more upright with a trail look where as the Fazer looks more agressive and sporty, the mate with the TDM is on his second one and really rates them, I see a few TDM's on my commute so they must be reliable, you tend to see mostly the fazer 600 on commute. Have you checked out the insurance and servicing cost of both as this could be quite different?

    Cheers Square Box.

    Thanks for that, M8. :)

I have not yet checked out the insurance / servicing costs, as they don't really factor into the equation in my situation...at least, not so long as the financial tsunami that's yet to land doesn't affect my Icelandic holdings. Groan. :(

I think it might come down to a head vs. heart situation: the head votes for the TDM900 whilst the heart votes for the FZ1....oh be still my beating heart!

  4. A classic:

Wife says "we won't buy each other Xmas presents this year as we don't really need anything"

Xmas day comes, Kids and all downstairs opening presents from under the tree and guess what, their's one for me from

    the wife!

I say "thought we were not buying presents for each other this year"

Wife says "I only meant big presents"

you can guess how my xmas was that year

So the moral of the story is even if the wife / girlfriend / partner says "we won't buy presents this year for each other" simply ignore it and buy one!!!

    Square Box

Swap Xmas for anniversary and/or birthday, and that's the swamp I find myself in right now, and just about every year preceeding.

  5. and finally.....

However, when she is menstruating, she prefers a man doused in petrol and set on fire, with scissors stuck in his eyes and a cricket stump shoved up his backside

That seems par for the course, i.e., any time, any place, any where. Period. (No pun intended...much B) )

  6. hi Everybody,

as an old 'pootler' who enjoys a recreational ride throughout all seasons, am looking at my next potential bike - either a F1 Fazer ABS or a FZ1 ABS vs. a TDM900. Before I get to the TDB900 questions, I would like to understand...

    1. What's the difference between the two FZ1s?

    2. I prefer the look of the Naked FZ1/Fazer (the one with the black engine + underbelly cover) over the half-cowled Sports version, as I would definitely add a screen thereafter...so, which screen is best, and is this a good plan?

    TDM900 Questions

    3. This seems a great machine, yet hardly anyone seems to buy them - why is that?

    4. As I've browsed through the whole section, I can't find much info on TDM900 riders, so was wondering if there are any dedicated TDM900 sites?

    5. And if you are a FZ1 or TDM900 rider, what are the pro/neg sides of my FZ1 vs. TDM 900 argument?

All positive input much appreciated.

    Cheers! :)
